they broke the contract so f**k em'. Gallop banned SBW for breaking his contract so he should do the same to 9.

every man and his dog should ring 9 tomorrow and tell em to stick Charlie Sheen and his sh*t show up their arse

Well its in 9's contract that all Melbourne Storm Finals games need to be shown live. So I'd doubt they would go against that.

Whilst they have been very lose on the 'decent' time slot for FNF games since their new contract they have at least stuck to showing everything else they promised Live into the Victorian market so far, and I don't think they would stop.

their contract says they must shown FNF before 12am. 9 have probably done that only 2 or 3 times this year

I am going to be in Melbourne next weekend, so i am hopeful of both games being live. Highly doubt it though.

WHERE TO WATCH THE GAMES THIS WEEKEND

Finals Week 2
7.30pm Friday 19th September New Zealand Warriors v Sydney Roosters Richmond Rising Sun Hotel 395 Swan St, Richmond
7.30pm Saturday 20th September Brisbane Broncos v Melbourne Storm South Melbourne Rising Sun Hotel 2 Raglan St, South Melbourne

Most likely the only places you'll see the games live in Melbourne. What is a contract worth to David Gallop?

CHANNEL 9 has reneged on a concrete contract to telecast all finals matches live - because NRL chief executive David Gallop would not agree to a television double-header.
The Daily Telegraph can reveal Gallop held high-level discussions with Nine CEO David Gyngell last Sunday night about match scheduling for this weekend.
Gyngell told Gallop his network would not telecast a Friday night game live from Auckland at the peak ratings time of 6.30pm in Sydney.
The Nine boss suggested both matches this weekend be played on Saturday and shown live - Warriors-Roosters at Mt Smart at 6.30pm (Sydney time) and then Brisbane-Melbourne at Suncorp Stadium at 8.30pm.
Gallop, though, stood his ground and kept the Friday evening match.
The NRL-Nine contract states all finals games must be shown live - but Nine claims precedents have previously been set, including last year, about delayed telecasts.
It was Nine's decision to show the game on delay, angering rugby league fans who fear they will hear the result before the telecast on radio or through the internet.
Warriors v Roosters will now be shown at 7.30pm after A Current Affair and Two And A Half Men.
Nine sources claim the 7.30pm timeslot would rate significantly higher than 6.30pm because fans will have arrived home from work.
With A Current Affair not telecast on weekends, Gyngell suggested the back-to-back games on Saturday.
"The idea (of both matches being played on Saturday) was floated and we considered it," Gallop said last night. "But it was too late to go chopping and changing the schedule around.
"One aspect of the McIntyre System is the sequence of matches.
"We didn't feel it right to go changing that after we published it all year."
Sources claim back-to-back Saturday games would attract a Sydney audience of 600,000 - the Friday night delayed game to draw between 450,000 and 500,000 people.
"We get irritated he (Gallop) doesn't listen," a Nine source said.
Asked was he disappointed at no live league on Friday evening, Gallop said: "Not necessarily.
"It will give more people the opportunity to watch the game.
"It's just a quirk of having a game played in New Zealand."
Gyngell also suggested a 6pm kick-off in Auckland on Sunday - live coverage in Sydney from 4pm.
But Gallop again refused.
Gyngell would not comment yesterday but Roosters chief executive Brian Canavan said his club would happily have moved their game to the weekend.
"It wouldn't have particularly worried us, not at all," Canavan said.
Asked about the live TV blackout, Canavan said: "Our fans are used to live footy for the majority of matches so, from that point of view, I can understand their disappointment. They are conditioned to live footy."

Great way to promote the game you knob. Give it a f**king tiddlywinks profile.

Sources claim back-to-back Saturday games would attract a Sydney audience of 600,000 - the Friday night delayed game to draw between 450,000 and 500,000 people.
Back to back favours nine with a nice big ratings boost. But all the League needs is a Sydney audience of 150 001 for the Sat game for a bigger overall audience. Nice subtle way for 9 to get more juice from the already squeezed dry NRL orange.

To me, the delayed telecast isn't a problem for anyone except those stapled to a radio or the net. The first consideration should obviously go to the Aucklanders. Then weigh up the option between playing the game to it's biggest audience (so most league fans can watch it) or pandering to the knobs who demand it live (meanwhile stuffing the majority of fans who obviously can't view it at that time).

Prime Time. Majority rules.

Besides, Gallop has a point. Every Friday night, there is a delayed game. No one raises a whimper.

I see David Gyngell asked Gallop to play the game on Sunday arvo.

It's ridiculous they ditched Sunday finals and that was all because of channel 9 in teh first place.

I have no problems with fans whingeing about this, simply because it's in the contract and 9 ran on the premise that ALL finals games would be live.

Why not start the coverage at 7pm then? I can't believe they are still showing Two and a Half men.

The sooner Channel 9 are no longer the exclusive free-to-air RL network, the better. Spread the games around between the stations like the AFL does.

I hope in the least they don't advertise heavily during the game.

Delayed telecasts really ruin the flow of the game for me. You'll be watching and a team will be building pressure, they kick for a repeat set, then you have to wait 5-7 minutes to see what happens after. It is not good to promote the game at all.

I can cop a dealyed telecast if they dont fill it with adds. As I said previously, the amount of adds they put in during the delayed telecast reflects on how many tries have been scored during the game (till fill out the 2hr time slot). It gives the result away.

Why don't the NRL bite the bullett and give Fox the telecast on Friday. I'm sure they'd grab it with both hands.

Nine = disgrace

You seem to have other issues besides league TV coverage.

I'm ok with the 7.30 delayed start, There is no chance I'll hear the score before it starts.
