Brisbane is far, far bigger than Penrith, and draws far bigger crowds which means more revenue and probably more sponsorship money.

whats that got to do with juniors :?

IIRC Gallop recently said Penrith had 10,000

how many do Brisbane have?

Again, do I have to spell it out for you? Larger population = more people that will play league.

I have no idea how many Brisbane have, but regardless, under your plan, teams like Brisbane and Penrith with large juniors areas would dominate the comp, anywhere else wouldn't have a chance.

so you have nfi how many juniors Brisbane have

you just incorrectly assume anyone who plays league in Brisbane is a Brisbane junior so therefore they have the most

The fun now begins for manly, with quite a few players due for contract upgrades due to international selection the presure will be on their salary cap big time. Like many teams before them winning the comp can cause a lot of grief keep your playing group together.

Well how is it any different from you assuming Penrith have the most? You saying that they have 10 000 is meaningless, because I have no idea how many juniors any other club has.

Common sense would suggest Brisbane have more, as they represent a much bigger area and are a richer club, so can afford to support more junior clubs.

common sense would say otherwise seeing other teams are linked with Brisbane clubs and Brisbanes reserve grade side is Towoomba

Who gives a sh*t. Stop trying to get into a pissing contest over who has more juniors between Penrith and Brisbane. His point still stands.

If you keep or cut teams solely based upon junior numbers then either the Broncs, Parra or Penrith will romp the comp every year. (and no I don't have any figures to support this claim. I just assume that these three teams would have a very large junior base compared to most.)

clubs should get dispensation for local juniors

clubs who who rely solely on poaching other players juniors should have to pay some form of compensation to theat club for actually developing them

it's easier for clubs to do well when all they have to worry about is other clubs poaching their first graders

other clubs have to worry about that and their juniors

Rubbish... You have first shot at them. You mould them to suit the needs of your club. You can lock them up long term.

Lets face it. Parramatta have NFI what a good junior is. If Manly didn't pick up the slack, they would end up in Union. And you question the good Manly is doing for the game? What is the point of developing these kids if you are not going to give them a decent shot at first grade?

Spending money on the Sunshine Coast is good for the game. It's fairly untapped currently.

You are just bitter that Manly has the coaching staff to actually turn a junior footballer into a professional footballer.

How many? Melbourne have the Redcliffe Dolphins, and Manly have a feeder club on the Sunshine Coast. That still leaves a hell of a lot more area than Penrith, and Brisbane develops a sh*tload more revenue than Penrith.

Sterling is a Wagga boy who went to school at Fairfield Patrician brothers and Kenny is a Guildford junior.

it's pretty hard to do anything when we continually have the eyes picked out of us by clubs who are too lazy to produce them themselves.

Shows the poor talent indentification and retention plan/policy in place really.

Anyways, everyone has a salary cap and the top squad is only 25 so people naturally have to leave clubs in search of opportunities in 1st grade. You have a big junior base and it is expected. You could have the best juniors but thay all will not hang around to play reserve grade with the odd game in firsts. Thats life.

there's only about 3 teams that need relocating because of juniors

Manly, Melbourne and Sydney

the response you'd expect from someone whose club cannot develop players

they just walts around throwing big bucks at young blokes and don't have to worry about anybody piching theirs because they don't have any

That would explain why 3 Manly developed players are in the Roos squad...
