You ignore the fine print about the GF margin, and hang on to the record books.

With Menzies, you ignore the record books, and hang onto the fine print.

If you want to get technical, Menzies was contracted to the same entity for 349 fg games. Yet he didn't play for the same club.

The NE period of his life was NOT spent playing for Manly. Manly didn't exist as a team in those years.

If you argue that he DID play for Manly, there's an equal and valid argument that at the same time he played for Norths.

And how could one play for a side without a contract? Simple. Mick Cronin played for Parramatta for a decade without ever signing a contract.

on the record 40-0

both sides scored 8 tries ie easts & manly

manly might have had 4 point tries v 3 points to easts but easts got the advantage of the scrum penalty/differential penalty - someone might like to look at how many penalty goals they kicked that day - i am not sure !

yeah the whole ET thing has been resolved i think, Andrew Ettingshausen has the record for playing the most games for one club 328. Steve Menzies doesnt even hold the most games for Manly Cliff Lyons holds that with 306 and deserves too, he was a Manly clubman as much as Beaver was
