Milan should never have bought Ronaldinho, or Shevchenko. Or Beckham either.

They went for selling shirts rather than buying for the sake of improvement on the pitch. Reminds me of the circus that is Real Madrid.

Granted, Ronaldinho has been pretty good, but they didn't need him. They needed some good defenders.
Maybe im losing it but didn't Milan say after last years disastrous season that they were looking to rebuild - as in buy younger players to replace the likes of Seedorf, Maldini, Inzaghi etc?

And what do they do? Buy an 18-months past it Ronny, a well past it Sheva for a second stint, and now to cap it off another over the hill former star in Beckham.

Nice recuitment policy. Almost as bad as Roma buying Riise.

LOL

#1 ... ronnie has won them atleast four matches on his own and is their leading goal scorer

#2 ... shevchenko AND beckham are/will be on LOAN ... they didn't buy them at all

#3 ... your final statement completey is out of wack CONSIDERING they DID buy defenders ... ronaldinho is their leading goal scorer already 1 shy of 10 goals and you say they didn't need him? lol ...

having Nesta out all season doesn't help, Milan's version of Ledley King

and to top it off Pirlo is out again

some of the other purchases were a bit ordinary, Sanderos and Flamini aren't exactly spring chickens

King is quality.

But the comparison was clearly about both players tendency to be injured for long periods recently.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR NEWS

Redknapp reveals extent of King's injury woes

By Soccernet staff
December 9, 2008

Harry Redknapp singled out Ledley King for special praise after the Tottenham Hotspur captain scored his first goal in three years on Monday night as Spurs beat West Ham United 2-0 at Upton Park.

The Tottenham boss also revealed the extent of King's chronic knee problems which have restricted the central defender's career.

King was only able to train for 15 minutes last week and Redknapp believes he could have been one of the best defenders in the world were it not for his injury woes.

''Ledley is a fantastic player. He has been unfortunate that his knee is a massive problem. (Sunday) was the first morning he came out training. He trained for 15 minutes and then came over and his knee was hurting him and it was swollen.

''It is like that every week for him. He can't train all week. The first time we see him is the day before a game when he comes out and tries to get himself going again.

''It is such a shame for such a talented boy that he has a knee like that, that stops him playing all the time and doing what he wants to do.''

Redknapp admitted King is unlikely to play in next weekend's game against Manchester United, but he is confident Spurs have enough cover in the shape of Michael Dawson and Vedran Corluka.

''It is doubtful he will figure against Manchester United. I have to be careful with him - if he does play two games in a week and his knee blows up he could be out for a long time,'' said Redknapp.

King, whose last strike came against Redknapp's Portsmouth on December 12, 2005, set Tottenham on the road to victory over the Hammers when he met Aaron Lennon's cross with a powerful downward header midway through the second half.

A long range strike from Jamie O'Hara wrapped up victory, Spurs ninth in 12 games since Redknapp's arrival at the club. The three points move above West Ham in the Premier League on goal difference.

Ledders been playing alot this season but he doesn't seem to be half the player he was last season.

Its still worth having him there though, he just seems to lift the team when he is on the pitch

They bought defenders? Who? Senderos?

I actually mean GOOD defenders. They regularly have Favalli and Bonera lining up for them, FFS.

Shevchenko and Beckham are on loan? So what. A waste of time and money for both.

They didn't need Ronaldinho.

and the news gets worse for Milan

Gattuso faces lengthy spell on the sidelines

ROME (AFP) — AC Milan and Italy midfielder Gennaro Gattuso faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after damaging his cruciate knee ligament.
Gattuso was injured during Sunday's 1-0 victory against Catania and will head to Antwerp in Belgium to see a specialist, his club said on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old has proved to be an essential element in the Milan team this season and his loss will be a huge blow to the rossoneri's title chances.
They play Juventus at the weekend in a must win game with both teams already trailing leaders Inter Milan by six points.
This injury could not have come at a worse time for Carlo Ancelotti's Milan who are already missing several key players such as Andrea Pirlo, Ronaldinho and Alessandro Nesta.
Milan did not specify for how long Gattuso would be out but cruciate ligament injuries usually leave a player on the sidelines for several months.
At least Milan are set to welcome former England captain David Beckham to the club in January and he may well prove an able replacement for Gattuso.

be interesting to see what Becks brings to Milan, no doubt a few increased T sh*t sales

whether they buy quality defenders or not is irrelevent since they bought defenders

and yes shevchenko and beckham on loan makes a difference when you say they bought them which they didn't

they didn't need ronaldinho eh? ... then why is he the leading goal scorer and milan are doing 10 times better this year than last ;-)
