I think its a VERY valid concern that the ppl who seem to be the drivers behind 3P aren't actually the board members ..... but ppl voted for the "names" at the election - so I guess we have to hope that the "names" are gonna do a good job of representing the larger 3P group's direction

I agree, especially as a couple of those names seem to have a very personal agenda and have been very vocal critics of the club in the past.

My other major concern with 3p are the journalists they use to push their barrow, it will be interesting to see who gets the inside scoop come next elections!

Personally I thought the last election was a "drover's dog"election. Change had to happen and these guys made all the right noises.

A difference none the less

Shades of grey.

After some prompting

I'm not so sure that we do

Well, we do know what the current board are like. They've been around long enough. I'm unlikely to vote for them, hence I really have little interest in posing questions to them or answering questions about them. I'll go by their track record.

I'm not hung up at all. Are there or are there not spokespersons for parliamentarians, groups, committees etc?

Umm, yeah, paid staff. Just as I said, spokespeople for the board should be paid staff of the club or the board.

How can they be faceless if they are speaking publicly?

Faceless in terms of the type of scrutiny an employee or board member is subject to.

As long as you feel the same way about the current board, then that's not a problem. I just wonder if you will be as inquisitive about the current board though? (and don't say that we all know what the current board is like again, as I don't really think we do at all)

Well we do.

We have a record to judge them on.

Time, money, who knows? Again, why don't you ask them?

Given we dont know who the candidates are (am I was talking about LC candidates), who do I ask?

Shades of grey.

As is life

Well, we do know what the current board are like. They've been around long enough. I'm unlikely to vote for them, hence I really have little interest in posing questions to them or answering questions about them. I'll go by their track record.

You seem so concerned about 3P's advisors etc, but those of the current board aren't of interest to you because we already know who they are? Who are they then?

Umm, yeah, paid staff. Just as I said, spokespeople for the board should be paid staff of the club or the board.

Again, Col is not a spokesperson for the board, he is a spokesperson for 3P. Ask Ron Hilditch if he thinks Col is a spokesman for the FC board.

Faceless in terms of the type of scrutiny an employee or board member is subject to.

I would again say that politicians etc all have advisors/spokespersons who are effectively 'faceless' by your estimation. Crosby/Textor and Hawker/Britton spring immediately to mind.

Well we do. We have a record to judge them on.

Not really on this particular issue. Again I ask, who are their advisors then?

Given we dont know who the candidates are (am I was talking about LC candidates), who do I ask?

Anyone from 3P. Take your pick.

Probably because Ovo logs on here and speaks for himself. :?

Fishy and Gronk, instead of being negative, why not front up at the club 12 o'clock Saturday, and front us in person and ask the questions that are troubling you. Ovo is a mate, and always will be, but what has he told you on line? He loves the club...which we all knew, and the losses the club has sustained. There is no game plan, no future plan, no 5 year plan for the club or the NRL side. Apparenetly Fitzi has one for the next 12months, but we have not sighted as yet. You are both supporters of Denis, and that is fine, as he is a legend of the club,as a player and administrator, and I have been a supporter of him for many years, but it is time for new direction for the Parramatta Leagues Club, and the Eels. You have to vote for what you believe, and we respect that, but if you have an honest look around the joint, it cannot continue down this path. Ovo put on line yesterday what should happen at the leagues club, and he did not care who did it, 3P or incumbents, but everything he mentioned was what his board ripped out of the joint. If our group did not put forward this challenge, these issues would not even be discussed, as the same old company spiel would been jambed down the supporters and members throats AGAIN for another 2 years. You have both brought up about distrusting spokes persons for 3P...whats the problem?? Is it not a good thing that a representive can talk with you on line, or at a function organised for supporters, training sessions, trial games..when in the past have you had that luxury apart from Ovo seeing you guys occassionally.
Please dont make assumptions, come and find out the answers for yourself and have an informed opinion for the future of this club. We all want one thing, and that is success for this club, so find out as much information as you can from both sides, and then make your decision for your club. One thing 3P has done is wake the joint up...we have changed it forever even if we lose, as the patrons and members of this club will make the board and management accountable from this day on....is that not in everyones interest. Hopefully see you blokes on Saturday.

Hate to break it to you, but it happens all the time. It isn't nonsense, it's how it often works.

Is that right. Mate - I sit on a board and I wouldn't sit on it much longer if I knew that sort of stuff was going on.

That is an entirely different issue. Do you know that confidential information is being leaked by board members? How about stretching it even further and accusing 3P of rigging the elections or something? I mean really

And that is exactly my point Mickdo. If the info is staying confidential, then what the hell are the rest of 3P for?

Thanks for the answer Terry. A few points

Fishy and Gronk, instead of being negative,

Asking questions does not necessarily mean being negative. ;-)

why not front up at the club 12 o'clock Saturday, and front us in person and ask the questions that are troubling you.

I was hoping to make last Friday night, however ended up with cricket tickets. Family function on Saturday, but I may still be able to briefly make it for an hour or so at 12.

I'm not overly bothered as there is a long time for things to be answered prior to the elections.

Dont get me wrong. I'm not making any assumptions about trust or lack thereof. That's why I have posed the questions. Personally, I just dont think it creates a good look when people who hold no position talk on behalf of board members. It's more an issue about transparency than trust.

It had crossed my mind. Crossed Gronk's, and also FP's. Chances are, it has probably crossed the mind of others.

Good for you. How did you get elected?

How about trying to win the LC elections for starters??? Do you think the current LC board is only going to have 7 blokes working on their election campaign and noone else? Some reality checks needed badly here

Firstly Carson, journo's were backing up for a shot at Denis, so you push that barrow anyway you please. Charles Manson was getting more fan mail during that period than poor ol' Fitzi.

Secondly mate, come down the club at 12 noon Saturday and pat the "DROVERS DOGS" head, as you so succinctly put it. Come and put your views to us , as it does not matter who support, your imput is important.

Whats going on is not a personal vendetta....this is the future of OUR club. All of us.

Come for a mag Saturday.

I don't find it trivial i just think that we're getting of the topic slightly, but I guess you get that when you hit 20 pages in the thread...
On topic, after staying in Parra Saturday night, I let the kids decide what they wanted to do Sunday and their choice was to drive over to Penrith leagues and play all the games downstairs in Kaos then play aqua golf.
Obviously yhe golf is not an option for level 3 but the kids games room sure could be and I spent around $100 in an hour there.
