How many tries did he score last year? Or any of the other years for souths? As a winger/center his job is to score tries, and I think a superstar in his position would be able to do the minimum of his job.

He played with some of the worst halves to ever play the game so if you ask me, 12 tries in that period is a fantastic effort especially since he was playing out of position for most of his time with us.

nathan merrit was top try scorer for souths one year with the same set of halves. more tries in a season than hegarty in all his years with souths. the wolfman scored more than hegartys grand total for souths in less than a full season. sbw scored more than hegartys grand total for souths in a season as a forward. brett stewart scored more in 2004, his full debut year, a year where manly were diabolical and no decent players and almost came last, then hegarty did in his time at souths. how is hegarty a superstar again?

I had high hopes when Shannon Hegarty came to the club. Those hopes were gone after about round 3 2005.
