How would you advertise the game?

Do they cost '10 million bucks' because of the actor though? If you used an NRL player (which is the point of this) you'd be looking at a much, much, much smaller cost for a similar product.

I'd like a backyard game of footy at a BBQ with a whole lot of kids deciding to have a game of touch, the kids start choosing sides and NRL stars turn up to the BBQ and get picked on the team. Can have guys like Inglis having to jump over backyard furniture to score a try, to getting big tackles into a shed in the backyard and so on.

I dont want some american styled rubbish.
I thought the best advertisement i've seen for the game was last seasons one, that was brilliant

Bingo...

I wonder if the NRL has ever thought about having a competition?

Create an NRL ad...having the Fan's create an add...and the winner gets like a gold membership to a club of their choice and tickets to Origin or something....and a Sum of money...something like the Dorito's guys recently did.

I think you'd get some wicked entries....you could still have your official ad...but choose 4-5 of the public's ad's to run at the same time..more promotion = More people through the gates.

This would not only increase interest in the game, but also improve the marketing dollar as many advertising guru's who love League would love to get on board...

Yeah exactly...and that's what I want more of.

Why can't we have something showing the human element of the players.

You say american styled rubbish...but what's stopping us taking the good of it...and adapting it to our market...why disregard something totally due to a nation's commercialism...that's just silly.

They are obviously doing something a bundle better than us...as what is their salary cap...$128m next year for NFL, something crazy for NBA and Ice Hockey as well....and NRL's $4.2 million...there you go...obviously their advertising works, whereas ours is rubbish.

They could have O'Meley as the fat kid picked last that nobody wants!

These types of ads have been done to death by RL. i want to see some of our best players get higher profiles and the way to do that is with individuals and hair on the back of your neck standing up ads. Also want something that shows and tells that our game is the toughest game in the world. Big hits and more big hits!
