Inglis = overrated

At least Inglis can finish a game though. Matai struggles to do anything constructive unless it involves niggle or cheap shotting. My memory maybe a little hazy but I recall Matai taking Folau out a lot of times in the air and the legitimacy of it was far from sound.

Matai's defence is terrible. He puts a couple of decent shots every now and then but he misses way too many tackles.

he is the biggest hitting centre in the comp, but only when he gets them right
otherwise he is a turnstile like the pomm

Yep. No, he doesn't meet your criteria for greatness - ie comes from Queensland, but he shut out Folau pretty well in the GF.

It certainly isn't Menstral Inglis - only happens once a month.

So he "shut" down Falau in the GF (interesting seeing as Israel was the Storms best player) and you see him as the best center in the game.
You are an idiot, but then that doesnt suprise seeing as you thought the IRB ran the international game of league.

Pomeroy? He's quality in defence and damaging in attack at times he just needs to learn to hold on to the ball and look to his outside man a bit more.

As someone else has said... only an idiot would say Matai is the best centre in league.

After so many arguments that I have had with you... I finally now realise that you actually know nothing about the game of rugby league.

Steve Matai is nowhere near the best centre in the comp, he looks good behind a team winning by 40 in the GF but that win was because of the forwards, I distinctly remember Folau beating Matai many times in the first half of the GF when the game was relatively even. The second half was all the forwards and if you think otherwise then i cant help you

He's not the best centre, but give the guy a break he shouldn't have even been out there with his neck and shoulder injuries.
There were plenty of games where i would say he lifted our team with his hard running and intimidating defense. He was one of our best in the final vs the Warriors.

i dont remember saying anything against the way he plays, i just think he benefits well from being in the side, i didnt say he isnt tough or resilient. My post was in reply to someone who thought we was the best centre in the game but i dont agree with that

i wouldnt say mattai is the best - and id swap him for folau but not too many others - the guy is all heart and can lift the side as he did plenty of times this year.

Nice bump Charles.

Player of his generation.

Loudtwat proves again, he is stuck in 1983 and the eels were great then.

Inglis would carve them up too.

Inglis is just awesome to watch, seeing him in full flight and just squatting defenders away with such ease is great to see, what a player.
