No qualms with your Drogba bashing. Even Chelsea supporters I know think he's a douche. I must say iot feels good when your team moves a douche on, like we did with Ronaldo. True, you can't replace a player of his calibre overnight, but 80 mil in the bank plus the emphbasis shifting to Rooney being the main man is not such a bad thing. He certainly has stepped up this year thus far.

I may disagree, but that's more due to my bias. I've said before that i hold Rooney in high regard and believe he will make a very good Man United captain in the future.

All 3 players in question, Torres, Drogs and Rooney are wonderful strikers.

As a Chelsea fan i wouldn't swap Drogba for anyone. Liverpool and Man U fans feel the same Im sure about Torres and Rooney.

yup... i wouldn't swap Rooney for anybody.

but Drogba & Torres are class.....

i dont get the whole douche argument... Rooney's as much of a douche-bag as anyone when he losses his rag. same as Drogba etc....

its just what happens with blokes who are driven like they are....

Just on Torres... i had my doubts about the guy last season... then i sat down and watched him play against blackburn... he scored one of the best goals ive ever seen in that game.... ive got no doubts about his class anymore...

That Blackburn goal was a stunner, gave me confidence he'd come back strong this season around if he could stay healthy.

My "Drogba is a whining girl" tag comes from several incidents involving him, including the way he bitched and moaned to the media following Jose's departure and his ridiculous tirade after the CL Semi Final loss to Barca. That was truly disgraceful stuff. Neither are really incidents that occurred during the game.

I won't deny he's a great player at his best, just some of his actions have irked me over time.

I hope your talking about Torres?

Fast becoming the worst whinger in the Premiership. Ive seen him several times this season run distances to confront refs.

 I will pay that, at least his English is coming along. Then again, most players can act like c**ks on the field, i.e. Rooney's tendency to suffer monumental brain snaps such as stomping on players or striking out at them.

My disdain for Drogba has very little to do with on-the-field grievances.

When Drogba is at his best he is an absolutely awesome striker. Big, strong, quick and score goals from 30 yards or 3 yards out. Super player.

Massive dickhead though. But who cares if he plays for your team...

Your right Tommy. Chelsea fans have been through a lot with Drogba. His antics, outburts, dives and tantrums have made the club hated in many way and arguably cost us the Champions League in Munich.

However ultimately Chelsea are only the force they are with him up front. He has won us several cup finals and several CL ties. He puts fear into the top teams in the world. Even after his seemingly final outburst last season against Barcelona Hiddink convinced Abramovich not to sell Drogba when it all seemed like it was over.

This is the best and most determined i have ever seen him in September. Usually its March and the big games before he is motivated and fit. He is a scary proposition this season given he is as settled as he has even been at Chelsea.

No bias there. As a Man Utd supporter I can say that Torres in 07/08 was probably better than any individual season Rooney has had yet. But I reckon Rooney has a higher potential in that he could possibly reach Messi/Ronaldo levels as the best player in the world, whereas Torres can 'only' reach Henry/Eto'o levels as the best striker.

Is he the best striker at this moment? Hard to say, especially considering his injury problems over the last 18 months. But he's certainly in the top 5.

As for Drogba, when he's focused he's an absolute beast. Vidic is probably the only defender I've seen capable of containing him when he's on fire. But you never know what Drogba you are going to get, the one capable of destroying anyone, or the inconsistent one who is busier complaining to the ref than playing football.

Can't believe people are saying Rooney is a better striker then Torres?

Rooney: EPL Appearances - 163 Goals - 71

Torres: EPL Appearances 63 Goals - 43

Rooney's forward play is top notch and the effort he puts in week to week is second to none. There's not a more passionate player that also possesses the first class skills that Rooney has in abundance.

But as an out and out striker, you cannot go past the Liverpool No. 9 and for 22 million and absolute steal.

Those records don't necessarily mean much seeing as Rooney has always played more in a Cantona/Bergkamp role, rather than an out and out striker role. This is the first season where he has really played that role (and even now he interchanges with Berbatov and drops quite deep), and 6 goals in 6 games is certainly a good start.

Rooney is definately the worst for on field antics, appears Torres is trying to catch up.. I don't see the same issues with Drogba though.

If i had to pick one to play for West Ham i'd probably still go for Torres.. Him and King Cole would be awesome !!

Getting sent off in the CL Final? Not many bigger stages to f**k up in tbh. His ridiculous tirade after the loss to Barca? (although that was after the siren). Those are pretty significant instances.

I'd like to say I wouldn't swap Drogba for anyone but I'd swap him for Rooney or Torres is a second. I'd prefer Rooney but Torres is class also. Three very gifted and talented players. Oh and yes, Drogba is a douche, but he's on my team so I'll support him.

Yeah true.. Forgot about the CL final.. That was over the top.. Over the course of a season though i don't see him whinge like a little girl on a regular basis as much as Rooney. Torres is a similar story on a game to game basis.
