Despite the Eels' surge, the club has vowed it will play its season opener next year against St George Illawarra at home, resisting the temptation to shift it to a bigger venue.
Chief executive Paul Osborne, who labelled as ''madness'' the Dragons' decision this month to turn away fans and play their final at Kogarah, said it was part of the club's strategy.
''We're pushing hard to sell memberships, and part of the attraction is that the fans can come to Parra Stadium to see a game like that to open the season,'' he said.

I don't hear any Dragons fans saying "Season opener, should be a double header at ANZ, wa wa wa I can't get tickets wa wa wa." Dogs and Parra fans are huge whinging sookie hypocrites.

it will most likely be a friday night game. transferring it to anz you will not get more than 30K. it is in march so the september fans will not be there. there were more saints fans at parra stad when we played them in April.

In all fairness, Parra are fully entitled to home ground advantage.

I'm sure no Eels fan, and no one at the Parra club, and certainly no one in the media would begrudge us the same entitlement... oh right.

Nobody is saying they aren't entitled to it.

Wouldn't of been a story if the deads*** didn't come out in the media criticizing the Dragons for deciding to leave the game at WIN jubilee.

Why not just play every game at ANZ stadium just in case a big crowd turns up?
Some genius might even come up with the old "Match of the day" idea as a totally new concept.
