I assume it did although I doubt members got a say in it.

After all, how else can these thieves come up with a $35 charge on top of a membership to be able to vote

What a joke. Buy a Platinum membership for $850 and then have to throw in an extra $35 to get a vote that should be a constitutional right

HAHAHAHAHAH

GO IRVINE!!

page 11 of the brochure.

from my understanding nothing has changed. last year football club membership cost $35 or whatever and this year its the same. season seat holders had no voting rights at all last season. now they are simply advertising the fact that u can buy a voting right, whereas last year it was all a bit hush hush. seems a good change to me, maybe im missing something?

I queried this with the Club. Life Members and Perpetual Members are exempt from the fee. Others pay it, so I guess it is really Football Club Membership under another name. Really though, calling season ticket holders `members' but without voting rights was a misnomer.
One thing I didn't check was if the three year waiting period still applies. To change that would, of course, require a constitutional change.
However, I really do think that publicising the membership is a step forward.......the more members, the more money, and the more input of ideas. We'll just have to watch that an outside group doesn't try to take over the club in their first year or so..........that's what the 3 year non-voting period is meant to prevent.

hey popper, in the brochure it says that 3 year membership still applies. so i dont think anything has changed at all, like you say they are just advertising it this year.

great move by the club, the more paid up voting members the better. democracy!

Promoting membership..................great move. For too long have things like voting, AGM's, etc. been minimally publicised.....ensuring a small voter turnout and a constant re-election of encumbents. A good move by our new Board to ensure transparency and member involvment.

There wouldn't want to be any waiting period if the club is going to extort $35 from members to get the vote they should automatically get with membership. Will cost a new member $105 (plus inflation) to finally get to the stage of voting.

Sorry Popper, nothing good about this at all.

It's pure extortion.

And another thing most of you probably do not realise. Cronulla was the first club to admit women as full members. We had foresight then, and it seems we have foresight once again. Hopefully, gone are the days of closed shop for the Blazer Brigade. Unfortunately, it seems that, like politicians, many directors/committeemen think they are elected to RULE rather than to SERVE. I believe the added transparency will definitely keep our elected servants honest. This is a credit to Irvine & Co.

Irvine had one main username here but would regularly invent new ones to hide behind. I'm probably not allowed to name them here (no you aren't) but it's fact and anyone who denies it is a barefaced lying merkin.

I doubt very much that he'd log in under his common user name. He knows that the admin get a log of who logs in in the admin console. He also knows that these froums are easily exploited.

Rest assured though, it is FACT that people down the club who apparently despise this "Cowards Castle" read daily and report on to The Pied Piper. One staffer even had a go at me over my posts.

Well guess what?

Bad fekkin luck

Please be aware that exposing a forum members identity is very naughty.
I would ask you all politely to refrain from doing so.

By all means PM each other, but nothing is to be posted on the forum.

IMO anything that encourages new members to join can only be a good thing.

You claim it will cost a new member $105 to get the voting stage, how is that different to how it currently is?

Naughty RCB, i thought the science line was vague enough to most people.
