Last week, and rightfully so, I posted a thread which was taken down by a Super Mod as I had no credible links to the story. I pleaded my case, which was shot down....how can you have a link when its all inside word.

http://www.smh.com.au/news/lhqnews/results-fixed-in-betting-swindle/2009/09/25/1253813612017.html

Theirs the link, make of it what you want!!

I also have the names of the players, and the man involved in the scandal, but until i get clearance from Super mod, the names stay under cover (unless your one of the lucky few who saw it last week when i posted)

What does everybody make of it lads?

"They are furious that a small group of Roosters ''celebrated'' the loss by visiting a brothel and enjoying the free services of prostitutes" (quote from the above article)

Those in the know can take a hint on who the outsider is.....

There are some very good reasons why we can't have unsourced allegations. If you knew the amount of 'hearsay' that gets posted on the forums, you'd appreciate why the Super Mod deleted your post. 90% of the time, it is just made up by and/or the result of gossip.

If no one is named, then we cannot name names. Any speculation regarding this will be deleted.

If they had of won, they would have avoided the wooden spoon. If true, it's a huge slap in the face for fans. They were leading 16-0 at half time and should have gone on with it.

My problem with the article is that there's just too much speculation.

An unnamed source being quoted, 'on reflection'. Saying one player ''who would do it'', adding several others were young and impressionable. ''Now, looking back, I can't say that it didn't happen.''

So the author is now trying to prove a negative to create a story.

willow dont forget i had this story over a week ago now though....and if it is hitting the press now...you would think their is an element of truth in it...

rather surprised nobody has picked up on the outsider though...

As for the unnamed source, not even going to speculate as I dont know who that is....

So far, all it shows is that there is a rumour.

Would he be a close relative of The Insider?

He's a very elusive fellow. Gets around and is known to many, but it's almost impossible to pin him down.

I remember reading an article in the herald before the game was played, that there were suspicions into match fixing resulting in betting being suspended.

Even without the betting scandal, Samsung were given more than enough reasons to hook their sponsorship. This is just the icing on the cake.

It's like a Where's Wally convention.

Look, you've been feeding off the media speculation like anyone else. If it comes off, you'll take credit. If it doesn't, you'll disappear. Nothing new about that.

More recent news is that the Roosters are considering legal action.

"We have consulted a solicitor who thinks we've got a very strong case," a senior Roosters player said. "All 17 players who played that day in Craig Fitzgibbon's farewell match are now under suspicion because of what the Herald has printed.

"To throw a game is the lowest act, particularly in Fitzy's last match. All our reputations have suffered because of the false stories they've been printing.

"Our legal advice is that all 17 players could launch a class action against the newspaper."

Noyce is supporting the players in their denial of match fixing.

"In our previous three games we were beaten by a combined total of 90 points," Noyce said, "On 12 occasions during the season we got beaten by more than 13 points.

the result of any legal action will basically come down to one question.

"who did moffo tip?"

if moffo tipped the cowboys, then i'm prepared to say the match was fixed.
