sorry, to add to my point, we hear all the time about Shire juniors etc etc, and at the momewnt you are reducing development staff and going outside the district, seems short sighted, but then as you say... just keep taking other sides juniors that have developed, feel a bit sorry for your own guys

might i add we were not the only NRL club seeking to the JV with cabra

we are not reducing development staff, the whole front office and club is getting a massive overhaul in the clubs rebranding

also it will take more then 3 years to fix our junior system chris anderson destroyed

This years premiers, the last 4 grand final participants, winner of 2 out of 4 . winner of the first U20 they competed in, were given $13 million in TV rights & then $8million from their owner(News ltd) who also own the NRL, staright from the NRL coffers, in order to run their business.
The rest of the money they raised through sponsorhsip, went to wharehousing players, at multiple joint ventiures .
RORT!!!!

Basically it shows little faith in your own development, and typical of Ricky Stuart, as a coach he doesn't do development.

At the rorters they just paid overs to attract Penrith juniors, I think the question should be asked, what is wrong with developing a side of your own, just a question

Absolute crap. You dont know what your talking about.
Ricky Stuart is very big on development. He has overhauled our junior system and the results have started to show with development squads, improvements in our Mathews Shield and SG Ball sides last year and more players coming through to the 20's. Regardless, the days of having sides made up of your own juniors are gone and a scan through the Sydney teams will show that.

This venture with Cabramatta is about one thing - saving money. We are forced to do this at the moment. In the future we may return to a sharks NSW Cup team. As for actually what happens to the NSW Cup itself, who knows, its a bit of a nothing competition anyway. Some NRL clubs dont fully support it, other leagues want it expanded.

The Storm run at a loss of about $4-5 million each year which News Ltd pay out of its $12 million profit for owning half the NRL. Hardly a level playing field.

I will give the Storm credit on one thing though. They did win this years S.G Ball competition made up of 11 local players. Fair effort.

Ricky Stuart is without doubt the biggest non event of a coach in League History.

Develop your own.

PS Albert Kelly will be a flop at your club.

Lock this one in. Premiership winning coach who took a club to 3 consecutive grand finals is, & I quote,"biggest non event of a coach in League History".
Also, Albert Kelly, hooking back with Grimes, will "be a flop".

Awesome , sensible, inspiring post.

Thank you Avenger. Your comments are noted and have been taken on board. Your input is very much appreciated. Perhaps with your astute knowledge you may be able to answer my question -

Under what authority, can Parramatta stop the venture between the Sharks and Cabramatta?

I would have taken those teams to grandfinals. It was served on a platter. When Stuart's contract is not renewed and Kelly isn't the next Laurie Daley will you concede that you know f**k all ?

Maybe because Cabramatta is part of Parramatta's Junior base ? Just a thought.

Why don't you have a joint venture with Como Jannali or Caringbah/Cronulla ? Sharks heartland. If this situation was inversed and we started taking players from your region you would be bitching more then a Dragons' blatant forward pass in a local derby.

Do you drive team buses? WE have a guy on here who drives buses too. Drop him a line. His name is Redback aka Cyril

It was served on a platter.
Yeah must have been. You can tell that because Melbourne until this year had the same strike at 1 from 3 despite having the best team in the NRL, ever.

When Stuart's contract is not renewed
Ok, I will remember this post in 2017 when Ricky retires from the Sharks.

No I think Albert will be the Next Preston actually.

They had no authority. They just objected & because of process, it will leave things a little too late for it to be approved, which it would have been/will be.
