8 day break till the 3rd and final test

Good chance to see if WI are indeed back as some sort of test force, and a good chance for us to play better and make it 2-0

Siddle may be out?

I would pick this side (assuming Perth is not a road)

Watson
Katich
Ponting
Clarke (time for him to be here)
Hussey
North
Haddin
Johnson
Clark
Hilfehaus
Bollinger

If they persist to leave out Clark, then McKay or even take a punt on Josh Hazlewood

Cheers

Do we need a spinner for Perth?

If Sidele AND Hilfy are out, Surely Clark has to be recalled

Meant to be a slow wicket in Perth, Hauritz will be in the 11.

Siddle out, Hilfenhaus if fit or McKay to come in.

Australia needs a captain wiht a thinking cricket brain , while ponting still there, the windies will be in the game, they have the better captain what has a thinking cricket brain

Hauritz is no good in tests IMO he is one of the least threatening spinners at test level I've seen. He's done ok in ODIs because batsmen have to go after runs but in test cricket they just milk him.

I'd like to see the selectors pick a wrist spinner (either McGain or Smith) or at least pick a finger spinner who gets spin + bounce (Krezja or Holland). Either one of those 4 ahead of Hauritz would be good.

There is also something I just don't like with Marcus North, I can't quite put my finger on it but he just doesn't do it for me. I think only one of he and Hussey should play. He won't be getting dropped though.

You'd assume Siddle would be rested with the crowded Paki test schedule coming up and a dicky hamstring. If Hilfy doesn't come up with his knee then McKay should come in as he has a good outswinger.

how's Hilfy looking fitness wise? How much of a shot is he of playing this one?
I thought it was only "knee soreness" so he should be right for Perth, I could be wrong though...
Are there any Shield games between now and the next test, as I reckon a few players could do with some more time out in the middle (especially the middle order batsman)

Hilfy is supposed to be fit and Siddle will probably be unift, in any case I'd rest him if he reckons he's fit, otherwise he'll only breakdown again.

McKay was only selected to be "around the squad for experience" if you listen to our idiot selectors, if we needed a bowler then they would have selected Clark according to them

I reckon we'll go with 4 quicks as the WACA has been very fast and bouncy this year. Shame Lee is out for a long spell.

We'd surely have to go with Hilfy, the Rug, Notch and Clark.

I reckon Siddle needs a season in first class cricket to build up some strength, he's an OK bowler but I've never before heard of some one pulling out of an ODI series with soreness, he is just not test match ready yet

Hauritz is rubbish

He couldn't get a wicket in the second innings on an Adelaide turner, he should never play another test match,

If he cant do sh*t in Adelaide, he is gonna be useless at the WACA

Benn didn't get a wicket either. Adelaide was a road. As for the WACA, it is meant to be a similar test pitch to last year- slow. The curator has stated this.

the fact that Benn didn't get a wicket has nothing to do with the fact that Hauritz is sh*t

and we only lost 5 wickets, still half an innings to go when they called stumps
