The Original Footy Show

Does anyone remember it?, The one with Gary Belcher, Michael O'Connor, Kevin Walters and Billy Smith at hosts and Kev had a street beat segment?.

Does anyone think it absolutely craps on the modern day footy show?, It was more stylelized like the modern AFL footy show and it was able to keep a comedic humour as well as talk football for the whole 90 minutes.

I always loved the Sam newman crosses every episode also. They need to bring it back!!!

I do remember a show called "The Hard Yards" that channel 7 cobbled togetherin 1995 that lasted about two episodes that featured Michael O'Connor.

For me, unless it's Controversey Corner with Rex Mossop, Alan Clarkson and the other cronies it just can't compete.

Wasn't that the Queensland Footy show that covered not just league but AFL and union as well ? I seemed to recall that while NSW had fatty and co Qld got the version with Belcher, Walters and co. Didn't Bombalas host it ?

I am happy to be proved wrong but I was sure that for a time there Qld had a seperate footy show to NSW. It was just a Broncos wankfest in reality but did have some funny bits. It was ? mid 90's or so, back when QLD and NSW had different commentators for origin

Ah yes, it was a QLD footy show. Back when there was a larger divide between us and the lesser states. Wish they would bring it back. And bring back the QLD commentary for SOO. Chris Bombalas was our commentator. And how good was he? He said "wally" better than any NSW hack.

It was a Broncos and Crushers wankfest as you'd expect.

Billy J Smith was the original host then Bomber took over.

It was a good show, even if it did have a small AFL and union segment. Both Sam Scott Young and Sam Newman were good value.

Those were the days.....guests took home a Meapro Ham, Dencorub for those aches and pains and Ferris Aston spoke of the merits of the Viking Sauna......Rex and Noel Kelly at loggerheads....great days!

Brisbane had a footy Show in 1994 before the Sydney footy Show was launched. I remember being in Tweed Heads and watching after a SOO and Gary Belcher was calling for Brad Clyde to be suspended for knocking out Willie Carne.
