This post just shows you're weak. Rugby League doesn't need supporters like you.

This.

Weak as piss, selfish and and gutless. The Storm players and coaching staff deserve much better than "supporters" like you. Don't let the door hit your arse.

such emotion. hilarious. perhaps this entire episode will open the eyes of the majority of sports fans who blindly follow their teams and defend every decision and comment they make simply because it was made by a person representing the club they blindly support.

sporting clubs are organisations. a club's board or executive binds the company to any decision they make.

basically, and from an ethical and legal standpoint, a club or organisation is only as good as the people calling the shots. this is the reason why ive never been able to understand the emotion people put into supporting sporting clubs.

contrary to what most people believe, there is no mythical power driving a sporting club. its 'mind and will' is no different to a for-profit corporation. the 'people' in senior positions at any period of time determine the culture of the place............not the club colours, mascot, or motto or fans. the only things that are different between a for-profit commercial company and a not-for-profit sporting organisation are its objectives, and this high level of emotional involvement from stakeholders - yes this what you are, your brand loyalty gone absurd.

so as a corporation's board and executives get punted for illegal or unethical behaviour, or incompetence, so does a sporting club's. if the damage to reputation or finances isnt terminal, then the entity can live on where another lot of people take on the job of attaining the organisation's objectives.

Wow, to think a few can cause so much damage.....

I will be there for our year of practice games. Hopefully we can use the time to blood a number of younger guys and get them ready for 2011. It will be an interesting year from a development perspective as some of these young guys will get a great opportunity to play at the top level.

There are many differences between Storm 10 and Dogs 02, most importantly, the market w operate in. Hopefully the players are unaware and the rort was constructed wholly in the office. The backend of the contract causes problems in player retention, but 1mil over four years through 11 players is not that much over the journey, so pay cuts may be all players who received the benefit may need.

A year of watching stress free football might actiually be good for the health.

it's a tough call to make - right now if i was a Melbourne fan I wouldnt walk around in the jumper for the cloud of dishonesty and shame that's hanging over the club - I'm sure Canterbury fans felt the same after Coffs and The Cap.....yeah I'd probably give it a rest for a while myself but might come back as a fan at a later date when the dust settles

Sadly, this is to be my last ever post on League Unlimited.

The events have transpired on the 22nd of April 2010 (and in the weeks months and years preceeding) have left me gutted, infuriated and disillusioned to the point where 30 years of supporting a game that gave me so many great moments, has come to an end.

.

Geez, thats a bit soft. Just because a few F!@$wits were doing the wrong thing, you are giving up on your club, your team and Rugby League?

Bulldogs are sprung in 2002 which involved government officials. Two years later they win a legitimate premiership.

Soft, very soft.

legitimate? geez that's debatable...

to the OP... hard call.

this is being discussed in the private saints forum and the general consensus is none of us would leave cause the club is bigger than one administration, a few players and a couple of years. it is kinda different with the storm though

are you ditching them just because they can't win this year? you need to stick with your team through the bad times. storm fans have never experienced anything like bad times. harden up

Well if you are willing to leave after this you ain't a fan at all. Harsh but true. One of my friend's has been a massive Dogs supporter for years and he stuck through them thick and thin and still supports them. I watched the horror of the Warriors for years and I still love watching them (despite feeling like I'm growing grey hairs early!), and I love the Storm (maybe not as much as my Warriors) and will still support them. I wouldn't leave them dry, this iis a time to show support not give up and run away!

thank f**k you're banned from the Warriors forum.

Brain dead bitch...

Careful, they were not guilty of anything in 2004. Innocent until proven guilty Bro.

Sadly, this is to be my last ever post on League Unlimited.

For 5 years a man who put on a façade of acting in the best interest of the Melbourne Storm, the team I supported since its inception and been paid up as a member since 2003, and his staff has robbed the players and the fans of the glory years that the Storm experienced from 2006 to now.

The high times, and low points, of the last 4 years now mean nothing. I cried in 2006 when we lost and in 2008 when we were humiliated; now my tears were just a waste. The exact opposite emotions that I felt in our 3 premiership years are now replaced with a pit of emptiness in my stomach.

Never mind the game’s governing body, the administration deliberately and blatantly deceived me and any other person in Melbourne who supported the Storm by signing up as a member, purchasing merchandise or forking out admission to home games at Olympic Park.

I take the deception of the staff at Melbourne Storm as a personal insult. The only thing that gives me comfort is that, at the very least, certain members of the club have ruined their careers in sports administration.

The betrayal of my support, and that of the other members of the Melbourne sporting public, has ripped my heart from my chest and sadly my lifelong passion for rugby league is over and I hope that anyone involved in this gets their just desserts!

My dillema now is what I'm going to do for 6 months every year....

You absolute, complete, gutless little man.

I also find it ironic that you start this thread in the French language, a nationality known for having testicles the size of f**king tic tacs.

You absolute, complete, gutless little man.

I've already made my point known in this thread but i couldn't agree more. The Storm need supporters more than they ever have right now but they don't need gutless pieces of sh*t like this. That might sound harsh but that's exactly what he is and i hope he comes back and reads it which i'm positive he will in the hope that others try and talk him out of it. Typical girl tactic.

Think about it, would any TRUE rugby league fans walk away from your club and players for the actions of a few cancerous people in your club? Of course you wouldn't and that's one of the main things that makes this game so great as what it is. The fans and the love they have for the club, this bloke is no fan and nobody should be trying to coax him back which i'm sure is exactly what he wants to hear. Of course he's hurting and i understand that, but a true fan of the club and game would stay staunch and stick by them both in their darkest hour.

I'll say it again and without a hint of guilt. Good riddance and don't come back. There's no room in the game or the for softcocks like you.

Don't think all Storm fans are walking. I know quite a few from meeting them at games. Dragons/Storm rivalry is massive and the games are always great. Most Storm fans are staying with the club. Obviously gutted as I would be if my club had gone through this.

Agreed mate. The vast majority of Storm fans i've seen, heard, spoken to, read are staying staunch and sticking by the club as they should. I don't give a flying f**k if this poster has been following the Storm since day one, if he's willing to walk away from the entire club, players, coaching staff etc after this then he's no fan at all.

I don't know why people are so harsh on Storm fans. They've just been shafted by their club and after following them for years they've had two premierships taken off them. I don't think anyone can judge them unless it has happened to their club.
Even when the Bulldogs had their points stripped their fans didn't have to watch them play 18 dead rubbers for the rest of the season.

It's hard to know how to react seeing as nothing of this magnitude has ever happened before, and probably won't again. I understand the initial reaction, I was the same, sooooo angry and resentful, but I got past that, and for the love of the club, I'm sticking by them, come what may.
Less, come back. We understand what you're going through, but now isn't the time to walk away.

There will be a new beginning. A rebirth, and I know you wanna be a part of that.
