These 2 Grand Final tackles are amongst the best in history. There has been a lot of publicity from both these tackles. Both in their own right were spectacular moments in Rugby League. If the battle is on, which one would you choose as the better tackle.

Here are the scenarios:

2003 Grand Final - Scott Sattler Tackle:
3:15

With 26 minutes left to play, the scores are locked up between the Roosters and the Panthers, 6-6. Todd Byrne makes a break down the left flank and beats Luke Lewis. Scott Sattler put the after burners on and the old legs of the lock foward go full-speed ahead. With the winger in his sights, Sattler jumps, grabs and brings down Byrne 20 meters out from the try line putting him in touch, keeping the Panthers well and truly in the battle, and shifting the momentum their way.

2004 Grand Final - Andrew Ryan Tackle: 0:05 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBi5fVA79iY

There are only 20 seconds left on the clock. Brett Finch passes to Michael Crocker who makes a break on the 40m line. Andrew Ryan, who made his debut as captain in the 2004 Grand Final reaches and grabs hold of Crockers legs, and he falls down and out pops the ball. The Bulldogs win the Grand Final in the final 15 seconds on the back of the skippers brilliant effort. The Roosters were coming home strong, but the desperation of Andrew Ryan put an abrupt end to their chances of winning the decider in the final seconds.

With all that said, which tackle do you like most?

Sattler, Ryan had cover in case he missed Crocker. Sattler was on his lonesome.

Sattler easily.

Although I've always thought the Sattler tackle is over rated, nearly any player in the comp would've caught Burn, he was a slow winger, and had a stumble early in the run. I would still pick it over the Ryan tackle, it wasn't much of a tackle and he was lucky Crocker dropped it.

Sattler's, as mentioned above sattler had no cover and the winger would have scored for sure, Andrew Ryan's had cover and roosters weren't guaranteed too score

Watching the Panthers highlights it really impresses on you how great a game Priddis had.

Ryan's was a great tackle, but Sattler was the last line of defence. If he gave up or missed, that was a try. Ryan at least had some support around him.

byrne isn't as slow as is made out. the stumble plus a wet track definitely didn't help him.

regardless, sattler still made the better tackle.

even though this debate is about five years past it's best before date.

Sattler by a swimming pool's length. I had no memory of that tackle from Ryan... and after watching that you tube clip I know why. It's not a memorable tackle.
