In a startling attack on the game's administrators, Hayne accused the NRL of not caring about its star players and said he could not rule out following the path of league deserters Sonny Bill Williams and Karmichael Hunt when his contract expires in 2014.

"I am only 22. Who knows what will happen after my contract," Hayne said.

"I could be earning a couple of million somewhere else."

Hayne claimed NRL boss David Gallop failed to listen to him when the footballer warned him of the threat of rival codes.

"The sad thing is that (the NRL) was warned but nothing was done," Hayne said.

Bye bye Mr Hayne, save for some bright boots and a few flashes of brilliance, you weren't that f**king great anyway.
Be well, and don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out.

Honestly, f**king greedy pricks, don't get me wrong, I am all for the "fair amount of money for thrashing the body" thing, but some of these merkins are off this planet.

Maybe Gallop should listen to these guys.. he is one of the biggest stars in the game. And he could potentialy leave when he's off contract next.

Surely the NRL is working to put something in place over the next couple of weeks to keep Issy and Thurston in the game. If both of those go. I think it will be a disgrace that the NRL didnt do something about it.

And if he leaves then so be it. He will follow in the footsteps of Gaz, cutie, Dell, Rogers, Lote and co.

Pretty hard to take from the highest paid player at the club considering everyone else offered to take a cut this year to keep Kingston. Massive contrast to the article the other day about him and Inu growing up in the slums.

He'd be missed sorely at the Eels, but it wouldn't sink the NRL, that's for sure.

Sensational headline to an otherwise bland story that's been done 200 times in the last few years since we realised we got ripped in the last TV deal.

It's all well and good for guys like Hayne to come out and say these things, but any pay increases are going to go straight to the stars. What about the 100k players who put their bodies on the line on a weekly basis as much if not more than Hayne. When are these guys going to come out and complain about our top stars not getting enough?

I'd like to think that an increase in the cap would come with a raise in the NRL minimum, but I don't see that happening.

Greedy money hungry players are leeches.
Lockyer, Johns, Fittler - all great players that remained loyal to the NRL despite the money being thrown at them to switch to union, and all of them better players than Hayne will ever be.

Piss off the Jarryd. Stop talking and whinging about it and do something.

Either form a stronger player union (or get involved in the one we have), or get over it.

The game will go on, no matter how many greedy "stars" it loses. No one misses SBW, no one misses Gas, no one missed Dell, Lote or Rogers when they went missing in action. Other "stars" come to replace them... trouble is they too get too big for their yellow boots and get greedy. No amount of cap concessions or increases will ever be enough for those type of merkins and their grubby player managers - as seen by the Storm players willingness to just keep taking boats and overpaid talk show slots with no questions asked.

Tell me about it, whats the juvenile on a 4 year deal?

Considering the little twat hasn't had anything resembling form this year....... Seriously p!ss off now Hayne, u'd be an ideal fit for the Super 14's for mine.

Me either.
I see something like a 1,000,000 cap increase simply being soaked up by a teams top 4 or 5 playes in most cases, not distributed 15 ways amongs the lower earners in a squad of 25.
That, gents, is true f**king greed.
Honestly, the level of greed some of these merkins display, I don't know how they look their team mates in the eye.

Lessons are hard learnt, look at the money Saints paid Gasnier, in the end his shortfall was his problem because HE wasn't playing well enough (or was injured) to crack the rep sides, to get the endorsement deals etc.
You can offer a greedy merkin everything he wants............................................. then he just wants more.

He's regarded by many as the face of rugby league, but Parramatta Eels superstar Jarryd Hayne warned his legion of fans he might not finish his career in the NRL.

"They just said `If you're going to go, then you're going to go, not much can be done.' That was their reaction."

He then added, sarcastically: "They really care about their players heaps."

The comments will surely hurt the NRL, which has all but installed the Parramatta fullback as its No. 1 poster boy. But Hayne refused to hold back on his feelings about the way players have been treated.

"How many more people do we need to lose until something is done?" he said.

"It is just a sad thing, rugby league is such a great game and there are so many passionate players and we are losing them to AFL. We have already lost Mark Gasnier and Sonny Bill Williams (to rugby). We've already lost these superstars and they're doing nothing about it"

With Broncos centre Israel Folau poised to defect to rugby union, Hayne claimed more could be done to retain the game's best players.

He considered offers from rival codes before he signed a new three-year deal with the Eels earlier this year reportedly worth $500,000 a season.

As Hayne made his position known in Melbourne, his Kangaroos teammates were on the verge of revolt, claiming their match payments for the Anzac Test were embarrassing.

Each player will receive $6000 for taking part in the battle with New Zealand at AMMI Park.

"The players do not have a voice," Hayne said.

"We are just given a schedule and told what to do. I hope something can be done. I have family coming down and they have to pay for their tickets.

"We only get four free tickets and have to pay for the rest. The payments aren't big at all so you think they could compensate us elsewhere. There are certainly a couple of issues there."

ARL boss Geoff Carr said the representative payments would be reviewed when the next collective bargaining agreement is struck.

"They were agreed to in the last collective bargaining agreement," Carr said.

Did anyone see the amount of edits in Hayne's interview with Wiedler last night?

Poor blighter was struggling to spit out one coherent sentence let alone two.

Shut up Hayne, you pieced together an amazing 4 months of form and now think you are an authority on all things rugby league? Try and back up one year and prove it wasn't luck and people might give a toss what you say

So the game should now be held to ransom. Good stuff.

Only $6,000.00 for playing a game of Footy for your country and the resulting financial benefits of being worth more as a result?

What a horrible thing that is.

Poor guys.
