no. hasn't shown enough - too big a risk for mine.

was he only signed for this year? if so i'd be happy to sign him for another 1 at this point but that's it. I doubt there's a bunch of clubs knocking down his door.

No way. I'd love our club to cut all ties with him at the end of this season.

I hate his lack of effort when it comes to doing the hard stuff. I'd rather develop Kelly

Id like to see what you guys could do with a number 7 on your back with a bunch of dazed f**kwits

surely you knockers don't expect him to be playing like Cooper Cronk do u?

His defence is sh*t.

But a number 7 isn't there to defend all day. Its a bonus if they can.

He has been back in the NRL for a handful of games.

He has shown glimpses of some real talent.

With a few strike players and some more room in attack he could be special.

There must be a better long term option than Smith. Should only lock him up , if we get a quality player to play alongside him (and I dont mean Trent). Broncos didnt want him and Peter Wallace is hardly Joey.

Any/all money better invested in chasing Billy Slater. Matchwinner, not too old, injury free, great in both attack and defence and Rexona greatest athlete. Slater would make those around him look good. Smith will never make those around him look good.

They (the donkeys) were certainly hoping that he would reconsider his signing the week before he came down to us. They were screaming for him.

He was probably 3rd in line, behind Wallace and Ben Hunt. Sure they would have kept him for peanuts!!! IMO, he is only a marginal improvement on SFP.

We are under the cap. The imposter Barrett is likely to retire. Lets use the money wisely. Bulldogs are probably spent up,Dragons will be with Gasnier. Cowboys with Thurston etc If Slater and Inglis want to stay in the NRL they have few options (so we even come into the equation). Probably, the Storm team will take voluntary pay cuts to remain together. (I cant see that being illegal, despite what the NRL say). Would be ironical if they sued the NRL and won!!

Slater is very marketable and does a lot of his best work alone.

It is too depressing to continually being linked with the likes of Daniel Fitzhenry.

We cant have many players worthy of upgrading. (except Snowden). There has to be some money somewhere for a decent player!!! We have less quality players than any other side in the NRL (Raiders included). Its time for a change. Tim Smith is second tier. We deserve top notch. David Peachey had very few rep appearances, yet he looked like Messenger/Slater and Mullins rolled into one compared with the current crop of crap.

To think Best and Howland were bit part players not that long ago!!! What the hell happened?

Long term no. Absolutely worth another season though. At the moment our depth is quite scarce in the halves, and will only get worse with Baz likely retiring.

We should definitely be looking at either a topline half or 5/8 though. 2 would be lovely, 1 is an absolute must.
