At the moment we couldn't be facing three easier teams in the next three weeks than we are.

Win those three and re-assess where we're at I think.

Sharks will be a tough game with the pack they have but solid defence could see us get the points. Our last couple visits to Canberra have been sh*thouse, however they are not in point scoring form at all and again our defence could see us take the points. Cowboys game worries me though, as bad as they have been, Thurston tends to cause us a lot of trouble and if Scott and Tamou play well then it will be tough. Would be happy to win 2 out of the next three. Ecstatic actually. A very tough run home after that though. Hope Rick has the boys nearing their peak and injuries are kind to us.

I could handle the loss to the Raiders in Canberra but I do not want us losing to the Sharks next week. The other loss this season was abysmal and we're going to need to pick it up from the Titans game as well. Hopefully the injection of Kaufusi and the (hopeful) bench retention of Edwards will keep some energy in the team with new faces.

If we win the next three then it's a five straight streak as welll.

Which is exactly why it won't happen. When did we last win 5 in a row? 2005?

I worried about the next 3 games. We should win all 3 but I can see us stuffing our chances and winning only 1 or 2.

Correct, though is more or less a similar feat, teams rarely manage that (or 5 in a row) these days.

Was 6 in a row in 2005 btw :) and a bunch of 3 and 4 in a row's in 2006.

We are currently sitting in 11th with:

+ 18 points
+ 7 wins
+ 9 losses
- 50 differential

Our run home is:

RD19: Raiders (A)
RD20: Cowboys (A)
RD21: Manly (H)
RD22: Bulldogs (H)
RD23:
Warriors (A)
RD24: Broncos (H)
RD25: Dragons (H)
RD26: Storm (A)

I think we have a good chance at winning the next 3.

Bulldogs, Warriors and Storm will be tough (hopefully Storm have given up by this point )

Broncos could go either way.

Tipping us to beat the Dragons as a smokey

if there is one more game that the storm will turn up and play a blinder in... it is the last game of the season, unfortunately. just one of those little things that you look at in the draw and say "gee, that's unlucky". there's 15 other teams in the comp that could have drawn them for last round... yet here we are.

Agreed. Doggies haven't fully convinced me over the past month (good match against storm though), but if they win their next two then I will be very worried.

Warriors if they keep their form we won't win that game.

I don't think we will beat Storm, it's their last game and I really think they will come out and flog us, I really do. Relying on past form against the Storm for that game.

Broncos will be tough, Hodges back. Full team strength, depends how we and they go with games leading up to it.

7 on the trot is a massive ask but really, after closer inspection our next 4 are probably the easiest of our run home...

Hodges will come back very raw after such a long lay off... he may be a weakness to exploit rather than a strength for brisbane.

We have 8 games left.

Without doing a scientific analysis of every other club's run home, I think we'll need to win 6 of 8 to make the finals. We are two points outside the 8 but our terrible for-and-against means we probably have to win an extra game.

If we can win the next four games then we set ourselves up for shot at winning two of the tough last four.

The more I look at the ladder the more unlikely it seems. But if we are to make it we can't afford to drop any games over the next month, or we will be pushing sh*t uphill from Round 23 onwards.

Hodges might not even come back this year going by one of the articles I read today... (i think on NRL.com) though its a bit of an 'indefinite' time period for him at the moment. He could come good in the next month or two and get on the paddock.

I can't see the Warriors run lasting given the team they have on the park, not to say that they won't make the 8, they certainly can, just that we will have a good shot at them, even given the game is in NZ. Also its an afternoon game, so a higher chance of not getting some NZ style weather that would favour the Warriors more.

yeah it's still too early to get our hopes up given our run home... i just hope we continue to improve and, even if we don't make the finals... we finish the year looking like a team who would go alright if we got there. that will bode extremely well for next year and a big influx of fresh troops.

we shot ourselves in the foot far too regularly at the start of the year unfortunately.
