The rorters already had a go for 2 of our young guys Dave! One of the 4 top juniors mentioned earlier in this thread signed for us at a little over half what the chooks offered. Another young but seasoned player knocked back an extra 50K a year for 4 years to stay with us! I doubt that any of our guys would sign with that lot!
Nice post Jack, sort of supports my own understanding of these top secret matters and my belief that Souths will always own those rooster jerks.
They need to understand and appreciate that their role in the game has always been as stress releif for us. A club we can kick around for the hell of it. Theyve been hard at it bending over for years and its set to continue.
Sure they had a few lucky frolics with Brad Fittler, but they had to steal him and gus to achieve that indugence.
Now its back to being flogged by us....for the next 100 years or so.
It is their lot in life, it is all that they are good for.

As for Best, Im kind of with Bumble,
not because I dont admire him and all that, because I do. I just want to see the underpaid kids grow and develop. Have their day in the sunshine with Souths. Say the last 8 years or whatever, its been hard for young blokes. Champs was thrown into battle way too early, but he has survived and is almost always on the up. Massive heart and an amazing talent. We need more like him.
As a kid I dreamed of playing for Souths, but all I managed was a year of Rugby Union, which was much more fun to actually play than to watch. I think it was Everlovin Antichrist here on LU who said that drinking draino was more fun than watching rugby union. He was close to the mark.
