The Table if Draws still happened

Hi guys. Does anyone know where I can find out what games went to golden point extra time this year?

I would like to see how much it would change the current table going into the final round if teams had one point each at the end of 80 minutes, instead of playing golden point.

Many thanks.

Souths would be out 100%, the Tigers would be second 100%, nothing changes for the Dragons and the Titans would be in the same spot, but can't finish better than 3rd.

This might be a stupid question, but I'm not sure I can remember much about footy when it was much easier to draw a game.

Do you think the fact that there must be a definite loser or winner makes teams try harder in the dying minutes of a match? Regardless of your opinion on the validity of Jennings full time try last night, do you think Burns would have been as desperate to dive on Kimmorley's kick had there been a very real possibility that full time meant a draw and a one point deficit rather than two?

What I'm trying to say is, do you think the possibility of golden point extra time makes teams get more desperate or try harder in the dying minutes of a game if they know their opposition is only one point away from stealing the victory and handing them 0 points, and does this in fact improve the game?

The tactics changed a bit, people are more willing to go for a draw to get it into golden point than they would have been had it been full time.

I know that Souths have had two- against the Titans and Tigers.
Also Titans v Dragons and Knights v Cowboys are others I can think of.

We had one against the Sharks too.

Didn't the Warriors have one? Not sure.

Thanks *Paul*

So Currently the Table is

1. Dragons 36 points
2. Tigers 34 points
3. Panthers 32 points
4. Titans 32 points
5. Warriors 30 points
6. Roosters 30 points
7. Sea Eagles 28 points
8. Raiders 28 points

And if there was no gold point the table would be

1. Dragons 37 points
2. Tigers 35 points
3. Panthers 32 points
4. Warriors 30 points
5. Roosters 30 points
6. Titans 30 points
7. Sea Eagles 28 points
8. Raiders 28 points

So really the big loser would be the Titans dropping from 4th to 6th and most likely missing a home final

Not a fan of golden point at all. If two teams are tied after 80 minutes of footy then they deserve a point each.
Its ridiculous watching them trying to take field goals from 40+ metres and failing miserably in gp.
Just my opinion..

And Souths would be screwed...

You're not alone, it is one of the dumbest things brought into the game.

It should be there for games that need it, like finals and Origin, but regular season games should be left with draws.

I don't think it has made any difference at all to the way teams play.
Look at the Eels/Tigers game, Parra went for a kick to try and get into GP, if there was no GP they would've done the same thing, to escape the game with a point.

So the teams that look like they're trying to get into GP these days would be doing exactly the same thing to get a point rather than no points in the old system.
