Losing to Manly won't be the end of the world. Don't get me wrong last thing I want is to lose to those #ankers ( I hate them more if not the same as the dogs).

Losing to them will eliminate a greater threat to Dragons in the finals campaign. Lets face it they are the weakest team in the 8. If they lose the Roosters (Daly M team of the year), Raiders, Warriors or Titans go out? Who would you rather?

No team is a real threat but if there was one it definately would not be Manly. Anyway, trying to find a negative in case the Dragons lose on Sunday. Hopefully they won't but if they do there is 1 small tiny positive. We thought the Saints were a shoe in for the 2005 GF and got beaten by Wests so anything can happen.

The Dogs lost to the Raiders in week 1 a few years ago which ended up knocking out the Saints from the Finals only to end up flogging the other teams the following weeks to make the GF and they won it.

If Saints go out and flog them and cruise through to week 3 it could be more of a burden. Complacency can set in. I am sure Bennett won't let that happen.

In that year (2004) the Bulldogs actually lost to the Cowboys in week 1 of the play offs.

When it comes to Saints there is no such thing as a sure win. If so I would of witnessed a few premierships but that did not happen.

This year could end up similar to 2004, 2005, 1999, etc.

I hope it doesn't and with Bennett in charge there is less chance of that happening but you never know.

Saints are s tough team to follow emotionally, just when you think they are invincible they seem to bring you down. Especially in the 2nd half of the 1999 Grand Final. One of the worst moments in my life as a Dragon fan.

Winning the comp will be fantastic. I hope the boys do it because they surely deserve it. They can finally get that stupid Choke tag off them because they do not deserve to be called that. Especially the master coach Bennett and a majority of the guys that have only been at the club a few years.

Lol, yes they can win it, unfortunately. Will they win it, the odds are strongly in our favour, so I doubt it. I am sure, well hoping, the players have been largely isolated from all this build up about Manly's chances being less than zero.

Its time like these I am especially glad to have Wayne Bennett in charge. He will have the players focused on the job at least and not buying into the hype.

Playing Manly week 1 with the posibility of skipping the semis and going to the prelims puts St George far ahead of the rest.

Manly are the weakest side in the game at the moment, and if St George plays its simple percentage game with strong defence, they should win with little difficulty.

This allows St George to not use any pet plays they may have up their sleave for the finals until the Prelim.

Dragons are probably the safest bet to be in the big one, but once there who knows what will happen. Hopefully a classic grand final that sees Ben Hornby lift the trophy with the little Norm Provan on it.
