Good chance for Brisbane coming up to position themselves up at the top end of the ladder, with two very winnable home games.

Some exciting matches ahead, of course the Melbourne-Sydney clash is the big one, despite both sides sucking atm. Gold Coast is getting into form and now host the front-runners Adelaide, should be a good game. North Queensland are finally home and meet the Glory in a game of two very attacking sides, could be a high scoring match. Looks like a good round.

I love how the Mariners are sitting equal second and don't rate a mention :)

I take no notice of the table until such time as everyone has played everyone else at least once ...

I did mention the Mariners, when I talked about the prospects of Brisbane taking all six points from its next two games.

And, no offense Timmah, but even in lieu of their last start pulse-pounding 3-2 victory, the Mariners are just one team not worth getting excited about.

Oh so we should just ignore teams that may happen to be in the top three because you don't find them exciting?

Perhaps we should not count St George Illawarra as premiers in 2010 because they played a bland, grinding style of rugby league?

Fair dinkum, as long as you can perform and win games, who cares?

I'm not discounting them, I'm just not getting excited about them (like plenty of whiners didn't get excited about St George being premiers). It's a bit early in the season to assume they'll be as good in the A-League as the Dragons were in the NRL.

Of course, saying Brisbane is going to pick up an easy 3 points off us isn't discounting us. Silly me :sarcasm:

I suppose people will continue to write us off. Haven't we made like two grand finals and won a premiers plate? :?

Did weasel say it was an easy three points? I thought he said it was a winnable game, which it is. Don't be so precious

I just find it interesting he offered analysis of plenty of A-League sides in his post including three of the top four teams, and of course two teams in a derby match who are playing like absolute busteds...

Yeh, that's true, Roboshark. Can't discount anything. Honestly though, the way both teams are going a Newcastle win would have to be considered quite an upset.

Sydney to be winless still would be funny as.

Fury to entertain the entire country tonight once again.

Deadset, why would the FFA want to hamstring and kick out everyone favourite second team??

got absolutely drenched last night but had a ball. Shame the weather didn't hold out because I reckon we could have got 7-8k but it wasn't to be.

Awesome goal by Payne, that kid is special no doubt, same with David Williams. I hope the Fury survive, I can't believe the FFA want to cull us.

That Payne shot was incredible, very narrow angle.

Reminded me of a similar shot from Pedj Bojic at DFS last year, although that one was along the ground I think.
