Taulima Tautai ? He's playing for the Sharks ;-)

Hmm... Inglis is a bit like JT, IMHO.
May have talent but runs hot n cold & I wonder if they are worth the $$$ or trouble that seems to come with them.

Wow..after typing that, I can see both seem to fit perfectly with the Eels' new strategy !
Miss understood me mate i meant tahu and all the B*****t goin on and a new centre in G.I wouldn't be a bad catch ,and some will laugh that the current sictch @ the EELIES aint that flash ATM!!:D

Thing is mate, Webb is $150K per season, which is nothing for a prop who can potentially be one of the game's best props when he is fit and playing well.
Reni Maitua is on something like $50K with a point to prove, could very well be one of the buys of the season if he wants to be.
Chris Walker and Casey Mcguire are both great players for what they were bought for.
Webb cant turn the clock back to 5 years ago, so he will by no means be potentially one of the best props in the game, you are way off and clutching at straws.

The turncoat wont sign with us - Souffs can have him. First he said he would never leave the Storm, let alone play against them. Then he went to the Broncos for his girlfriend - he changes his mind again despite agreeing to sign.

Talent doesn't disappear, 'boppa. He's overweight and unfit but it doesn't mean he still can't turn it on; I direct you to one of the later games in Season 2010, people said he was dominanting. I'm not clutching at straws "mate", I said what is fact and that a fit and raring Carl Webb is an Origin-quality player. Whether he does that or not is the big question.

If memory serves correctly, one Fuifui Moimoi was in the same sort of condition as Webb is now when we bought him from the Bunnies, we all know how that turned out. Long story short why don't we wait 'til midway through next season before we cast judgement on the Webbs, the Maituas, the Wallers etc.

Inglis wont be coming to parra, no way. Look at the players who have turned us down this offseason..Inglis would just be another one. I think parra offered him when he pulled put of the brisbane deal..he said NO

Poore to start - replaced by Webb at 25 min mark.
Fui to start - replaced by mannah at 15 min mark.

Same second half.

Webb & Fui total game time each (impact/explosive) 30 min.
Poore & mannah total game time each 50 min.

Even at his best Webb wasn't really that good. He owes his career to that one great origin try. He was a handy impact player. But he didn't play the minutes nor had the work ethic to ever be considered 'one of the best props in the game'. He's older now and well past his best. If he can make some handy metres off the bench in in a 25 to 30 minute spell every week I'd be happy. But I wouldn't be expecting any more than that. He was never ever a complete front rower.

What do they say about props? That they get better with age?

Also, all he needs to do, really, is make metres and tackles. I am sure he can do it.

I am also confident he can add some starch to our pack.

First point may be true, but all Webb's resume says is that he gets incredibly worse with age.

Second point, well he hasn't done much of either at the Cowboys for a long time. A GOOD game for Webb these days is making 80 metres and 15 tackles.

True. And I totally get why people are nervous with him.

But someone else put it best IMO: if we consider him a bench replacement for Caylo, all he really has to do is Caylo's work. Now, he won't get anywhere near Caylo's defensive workload (few props can IMO). But if he can make a similar impact in attack that Caylo did, we're no worse off.

And as much as I adore and admire Caylo, his running game wasn't exactly lethal in his later years. So if Carl can return similar attacking figures to what Caylo was bringing, we'll be OK.

What about Shack, he's gotta fit in there somewhere... we've got good depth for props.
