He would be a good pickup for any club , however i feel he burnt his bridges with souths. I feel better booing him now in a Roosters outfit or just ignoring him as he plays out his career with another club.
Anyway , if Sutton was to move , i prefer to either give Mundine the shot at 5/8 or Inglis if Mundine cannot handle the step up.

Bennett is a coach, he doesn't come under the cap. SBW, if he comes, will come in 2013, when the cap should be significantly increased. No need for a "creative" CEO...and no need for us to increase our monthly order of brown paper bgs.

By "hopefully" I mean certainly. 3peat, we'll win this year, then with Bennett we'll win next year by an even larger amount, possibly going undefeated all year, then in 2013 with SBW (and with a Burgess-SBW-Taylor back row that will go down in history as arguably the greatest backrow in the history of the game)we'll get the 3peat. Is that a better "tune"?

2011. If the rumour is true (I guess we'll see by the end of Sunday) it makes some sense. DT (I know I know, scum rag, but once in a blue moon they accidently get things right) saying Anasta's relationship with Easts is at "breaking point", and Bradford have lost Orford.

I've heard Sutton is on around 400k, (last year of a backended contract) which is roughly what Anasta is on. And also as the Roosters are shopping him, I'm pretty sure if we only have 400k and we take him and he's on 450k then the Roosters have to pay that 50k.

Not too sure about that. Just about everyone's critique of Souths chances in 2011 goes along the lines of "not with those halves".

While I'm a big fan of Sutton he is not reliable enough. Anasta is more reliable, better kicking game (which we really have missed) and is a better leader. If you take money out of the equation and simply had to pick Sutton or Anasta to be your 5/8, I'd really have to pick Anasta.

Like Hunters said, just about every Souths critic who says we can't go all the way puts it on Sandow and Sutton. So if we do nothing, people will say "they've got rocks in their head". But if we upgrade one of the halves everyone is always complaining about with arguably the best player of the finals last year, someone with multiple grand finals of expierience, people still complain. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I'm just thowing out a rumour I've heard, which is the exact point of this thread. Many others have done the same. And while many of the rumours have been proven to be right, many also have been proven to be BS. This rumour could end up in either category, we'll see over the next few days.

It's the last year of his contract. The contract may have averaged 300k or even less over it's life.

Really? Your job is never safe? If by "your job is never safe" you actually mean "your job is 100% safe for the duration of your contract, except for the possibility where you may move on elsewhere for a contract of equal or better value" then you're absolutely correct.
