Great fun to watch.

I noticed that the shield awarded already had many spots open to insert the future winners names on. Hopefully this becomes an annual event.

Congrats to Fox for picking up the game - 9 blew it. It was something that even non footy fans would have enjoyed.

This needs to become an annual event. Maybe alternate the venues from year to year between QLD and NSW. There is always some sort of crisis this time of year wether it be floods, bushfires or cyclones. Either that or spread the love between some charities like Red cross or Canteen or whatever.

And a big f**k you to channel 9, that game would have rated it's tits off for a thursday night and the good will it would have generated in allowing those not able to afford pay would have been immense. I am not surprised though to be honest, the way the game has been treated for years by these merkins it's pretty much the norm.

Agree Beave! Channel 9 dropped the ball....AGAIN!

I don't know about an annual event...it may lose it's enjoyment. But I reckon every 2 years alternating between venues in Qld & NSW. A different charity each 2 years. Red Cross, Canteen, Vinnies, Salvos, etc.

Most enjoyable couple of hours.

Freddie still looks great, as does Brandy, Girdler, Brasher.

Can't believe how big Lamb is!

Symonds looked good.

Trim will remember that game for the rest of his life. Great call by him to Freddie! :)

Spud and Gordie still going hard.

Funny to see Mario cleaned up a couple of times. :)

Elias is still a merkin.

I think annually would work.

Just think these guys had less than a weeks notice it was happening. I reckon a few of them would put in the hard yards if they knew this was coming up and be a little fitter next time round. Plus each year you have a new crop of recently retired such as Rogers and Noddy.

What did Campion say?

Watched it at the pub, at least 40 people watching it. Unfortunately in the dining room so no sound, so no real idea what happened.

Interviewer: "When's the last time you hit someone in anger, must have been a while?"

Campion: "Ahhh probably my wife last night."

Absolute quality. Loved every moment, right down to the final moment with Blacklock chasing down a fairytale finish. Pity we didn't see a backflip.

Worst on field - Mario Fenech - shocker!
best - Adrian Lam - controlled the game well and carved right through the line for a good try.

Favourite player, Fittler was rocks or diamonds imo. Some top notch vintage Freddy moments, setting up a try for the random guy was brilliant, but some absolute shocker passes.

Funniest moment, the random NSW bloke arcing up to Tallis

They'll never televise it, not when there's HILARIOUS repeats of 'Two and a Half Men' to be shown instead!

What a great event! It was awesome watching all the old players going around.

Did anyone else see Jason Smith light up a smoke in the dressing room at half time?

Ch 9 went on and on about how great their flood coverage was, but last night they really dropped the ball. It was a great chance to raise funds for the cause, maybe get some RL players answering the phones to get donations, but they f**ked it.

I'd bet if the same thing happened in melbourne, Ch 9 down there would have jumped at an AFL charity game in an instant.

Pathetic merkins.

As much as it would have been good for the masses without Fox to watch the game I'm glad it was on Fox and not 9 as it was commercial free and well presented in a lighthearted manner and very entertaining which would not have happened on 9.

Atmosphere was great, was a very happy, friendly affair.

Everyone seemed to be there in the frame of mind that it was a light hearted spectacle and just about everyone was respectful and grateful to all players who gave up there time for the cause. I think most were suprised at just how hard the old blokes went at it.

One or two pissed idiots around the place by full time and leaving the stadium, but i guess it wouldn't have been a footy match without that.

My only gripe would have been Gus Worlands use of the microphone throughout the 1st half of the game, all he did was yell out at ex-roosters when they touched the ball and also yell at M.G to get involved. That got fairly annoying.Thankfully they pissed him off and played Joey and H.G's commentary for the 2nd half.

Overall, great night for a great cause.

Great highlights package. Nice little earner for the Qld flood appeal. Anyone in the crowd who can comment about the atmosphere?
Outstanding atmosphere. Tallis got booed of course. While the crowd was clearly behind NSW (social game or not it will always happen) even still QLD got a respectful claps. Great to see the mix of jerseys. It reminded me of the old world 7's days

I thought Spud Carroll was being a bit of a knob and going over the top, the rest just seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Symonds was always odds on to do something stupid.

The highlight for me though was the Tony Trim's try off Freddy's kick.
