It's the last year of his contract. The contract may have averaged 300k or even less over it's life.

Blah blah, I'm tired of hearing the term "backended contracts" from people who wouldn't have the slightest clue about the contract situation of their clubs. I follow the Warriors as close as anyone but I wouldn't have a clue who has what there.

Asotasi, Taylor, Burgess, Sutton, are they all backended now are they? Because that's what I've been hearing throughout the whole Inglis saga. Problem is that backended contracts get more expensive as they go on. Exactly how many players do Souths have on 350-450k now? Crocker wouldn't be cheap, Luke would get an upgrade when re-signing.

It's very easy to say "Anasta for 400k" oh well we'll just say someone's contract is backended. Sounds like BS to me.

even if Sutton chose to go to Superleague, i would rather give Mundine first shot at 5/8 and if he is not up to it , Souths can slot inglis into the pivot position and bring up another young centre.

I doubt Carney would want to go to Souths in any case, he'd be settling on a new contract with the Roosters pretty soon. Why would he team up with one of the worst halfbacks in the NRL (Sandow) at the Rabbitohs than stay with one of the better halfbacks in the NRL (Pearce) at the Roosters?
