I'm loyal to my team before I'm loyal to any individual player. Winning is our number one priority. Loyalty and all those fluffy things are nice but not if they come at the expense of winning.I think you're safe there. So if Sutton doesn't move on what happens to Mundine, this great player you guys have been developing? Prop perhaps??
And as far as my other comment goes, you were happy enought to lose Champion for Inglis. You want to swap Merrit for Nightingale. You're happy to shop Talanoa around to free up the cap space.
Three guys that have bled red and green on the field yet you have shed not a tear.
We may be talking hypotheticals, but with your attitude you are quickly becoming everything that the Rabbitoh faithful have hated for so long.
No sane person would choose Champion over Inglis. As for Merritt and Nightingale, Merritt is a good player but he's also coming off contract and if he scores a good amount of tries this year he might cost more than Nightingale.
If that's the case then I'd have Nightingale ahead of Merritt because A) Nightingale is younger and B) his style would suit our needs and help us be more balanced.
Merritt is the better try scorer but we have plenty of try scorers all over the park, we have been lacking in defense and that's where Nightingale's advantage is.
As for Sutton and Mundine. Depending on how much cap space we have left and how much Sutton wants could make Mundine the better option. If we have to choose between say Sutton at 400k and Mundine at 120k, we might not be able to fit Sutton.
You talk about loyalty but what if Sutton gets a big offer from someone lacking in the halves and with cap space to throw around, like say Parramatta or Cronulla. We might not be able to keep him or, or if we do it might come at the expense of resigning two Souths juniors.
