I think you're safe there. So if Sutton doesn't move on what happens to Mundine, this great player you guys have been developing? Prop perhaps??

And as far as my other comment goes, you were happy enought to lose Champion for Inglis. You want to swap Merrit for Nightingale. You're happy to shop Talanoa around to free up the cap space.

Three guys that have bled red and green on the field yet you have shed not a tear.

We may be talking hypotheticals, but with your attitude you are quickly becoming everything that the Rabbitoh faithful have hated for so long.
I'm loyal to my team before I'm loyal to any individual player. Winning is our number one priority. Loyalty and all those fluffy things are nice but not if they come at the expense of winning.

No sane person would choose Champion over Inglis. As for Merritt and Nightingale, Merritt is a good player but he's also coming off contract and if he scores a good amount of tries this year he might cost more than Nightingale.

If that's the case then I'd have Nightingale ahead of Merritt because A) Nightingale is younger and B) his style would suit our needs and help us be more balanced.

Merritt is the better try scorer but we have plenty of try scorers all over the park, we have been lacking in defense and that's where Nightingale's advantage is.

As for Sutton and Mundine. Depending on how much cap space we have left and how much Sutton wants could make Mundine the better option. If we have to choose between say Sutton at 400k and Mundine at 120k, we might not be able to fit Sutton.

You talk about loyalty but what if Sutton gets a big offer from someone lacking in the halves and with cap space to throw around, like say Parramatta or Cronulla. We might not be able to keep him or, or if we do it might come at the expense of resigning two Souths juniors.

A team is built around a heart and soul. It may sound like a bit of a wank, but anyone who has played in a team sport knows what I'm talking about. All of the great teams have had it. I know I'm biased, but the Dragons have it in Cooper, Hornby, Nightingale, Young, Creagh, Morris, even Gasnier coming back to his roots. Up and comers that will hopefully carry the tradition like Hunt, Merrin, Stanley. Sure, we've added to our roster with guys that were either esatablished, like Smith and Boyd, or discards like Weyman, Costigan, Sailor. They were shown some faith and repaid in full. They added to the core but did not replace it.

Other teams have it. Lockeyer, Thaiday, Ryan, Lewis, Marshall, Slater, Gidley, Gallen, Douglas, Snowden to name but a few.

From your mob - Champion, Geddes, Stuart, Talanoa, Sutton, Sandow - you don't have to look far.

If you discard these players cheaply you cheapen the entire team. I am still disappointed at the way our club treated some stalwarts such as Thompson, Beattie, Steve Morris. I get p#ssed off remembering players that shat on the club like Reddy, Mundine and Tallis. It's all part of what makes supporting a team such a tragic yet enjoyable thing.

For some things the price is too high. Good luck if that is the path you want to follow.

Sutton's an overrated, lazy gangbanger. Mundine's just as lazy, thus why we gave him the punt. Do you even think before you post your inane, mindless dribble? I can see why other Souths fans (proper ones) give you a wide berth, you f*cking moron

he did what the waterboy couldn't.
Coach the red hot favourites to success.

He is a great great footy coach of great footy players...but geeze ...the dude has not really challenged himself too much.
That Broncos side was almost the Aussie team.
If you want to be critical... the year he did win it with the Dragons was a debacle with the storm being banned.
Yet his team... was allowed the magic leg up with the Gasnier deal somehow being made legal.
pfftffftt.

It would be like Souths being allowed to sign SBW this year with 6 rounds to go for fug all....while they are leading the comp.

lol it's great to see a Sharks fan's bitterness still simmering away all these months after teh grand final celebrations.

Almost as entertaining as the season highlights dvd. It will never get old

I'm not a fan just for the good times (no Souths fans are). That will not happen, but if it does, I'm not going away. Souths fan and member in good times and bad.

Oh please. There's been plenty of talented squads, it takes a lot more than a few talented blokes to get to and win a grand final. And in the salary cap era, the fact that he's won so much proves beyond a shadow of a doubt, Wayne Bennett is the greatest coach in the history of rugby league.

Brown had arguably many better rosters and did nothing.

If you honestly believe you just need to show up to coach, you're deluded.

Nah mate, it's bitterness. It's amusing that prior to October they were overrated chokers who'd played rep footy through sheer luck and selector imcompetence. Now they're a collection of superstars who could have strolled to the title blindfolded

In Phil Rothfield's blog he answered questions about Bennett today. He says Bennett will go to Souths and that Boyd will go wherever Bennett goes.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
