The most over rated halfback in the NRL.

The Tits are at the age where they are starting to sag.

Tough times are a coming on the Coast over the next few years. Their squad is old and has missed their window, but no noticable planning for the future rebuilding has been carried out.

Chris Sandow is the most overrated halfback in the NRL and could contend for the game's most overrated given some compared him to a young Allan Langer for crying out loud!

Rubbish, next to no one rates Sandow as a good player anymore. It would be like saying Ben Jones is the most overrated player because people were saying hes the next Wally Lewis.

Prince can't tackle. He refuses to put his body on the line.

He may have 1 good game in every few, but in reality over the last year and a few games he has been declining.
In 2005 for the Tigers he was fantastic.
His time has come and gone, I personally think he is over rated for where is at right now.
His best days are gone, and I can't see him lasting his full contract.

The way he missed tackles yesterday, it was almost as if he was scared to be out there.

Without Friend, the Titans are pretty much clueless.
With Friend in the side, and Prince out, they would fare much better.

So where to once Preston goes? What about Greg Bird who has won MoM for NSW as a five-eight? I'd back the young forwards to fill Bird in the back row and put him in the halves.

With that said, who is coming through if anyone at the Titans in the halves? And if there is no one, why not JC? Who is on the market in 2012 that plays 6?

The young outside backs aren't the problem, it's the guy partnering Prince. Preston is a reasonable option though he will play like a 7 which won't hurt Prince if both are split.

I think you will find Prince and the side will improve once Friend returns. He commands respect from dummy half as he can rack up plenty of metres there if given the opportunity.

Rankin would be the heir apparent. He is playing his forth year in the NYC after making his debut at 16 in the NRL.
I do not believe the whole we are too old BS being sprouted by some, you can only ever have one eye on the future not both.

young players in our squad at the moment
1. Zillman
2. Gordon
3. Tonga
4. Mead
5. Tomane
6. Capewell
7. Rankin
8. James
9. Lawton
10 Mathews
11 Ben Ridge
12 Tagataese
13 Bodine Thompson

14. Shannon Walker
15. Vickery
16. Srama
17. Lawrence

That is more then enough depth/youngsters for this years team.
and there is some great players in that list.
James
Gordon
Tomane
Tonga
Mead
Thompson
Tagataese
Zillman
ect

Scotty was by far the best halfback in 2008 but since then he was been declining every year. Its depressing to watch.

Someone bagged me for saying Prince was poor last year, we're simply seeing this year he's continued his decline.

He was a damn good player till about 09, since then however has been struggling

I have to agree.

If your Captain refuses to even get dirty, what sort of attitude does that instil on others.
Gordon and Mead have no chance of even seeing the ball as teams just slide across while Princess cuts off 30 meters of the field with dummies.

Nobody deserves a 5 year deal, i don't care who they are

What surprised me is that Prince hardly ever flung it wide and your wingers were non existent.

Does not help as well though when you have Toopi in the centres who cannot catch a cold...

Prince is a scumbag. I will never forgive him for leaving the club that won him his premiership and Clive Churchill medal.

The reason IMO why we can score from the halfway but not inside the 20 is because of the angle Prince is running.

Most teams have a up and in style of defense that changes to a slide inside there 20. Princes tactic of crabbing across field holding the ball, works great for Up and In, but is pathetic against a slide. Why will he not straighten himself at the line, and suicide pass to players into holes? Most of the tries i can remember us scoring in the last few years at the line have been, when Rogers Myers, Lafrancri or Mini have done exactly that off of Friend or Preston. But Prince has not bought this into his game.

You could argue, the half backs role is to control field position with the forwards and kick...and then give his 5/8 room to put on a try scoring play.
And Prince tries to do both roles.

We need a 5/8, we have since inception.
Hilder
Harrison
Bird
Rogers
Preston
Lewis
Capewell

Have all had a go, and there is the fundamental problem with the style of players above.
This still doesnt excuse that lack of effort from Prince in defense IMO

"a good player anymore"??????????

Was he ever any good??

If he's a master of anything, it's missed tackles. No half in the comp surely would come within reach of him
in that area.

Not sure if this has been brought up, but how the f**k can Cartwright justify having Campbell as a replacement hooker?

as a saints fan i would have to say if they signed prince i would refuse to support the team. i can't stand the whiney turd. but then the saints have a no dickhead policy so there's no chance of them signing him.

People used to think he was good, hence why he WAS overrated. No one rates him now(except Luke) so he can't be overrated.

after reading the other thread im going to nominate Luke Walsh... good kicking game is all he's got. There seems to be a belief he's one of the emerging young halves in the game, i just dont see it.
