Wayne Bennett is reported to be announcing his departure from the St George Illawarra Dragons at the conclusion of the 2011 season.

LeagueUnlimited.com understands a press conference is scheduled for Wednesday, 30 March at the Steelers Club, Wollongong, where Bennett will announce his plans to move on from the joint venture club which he steered to back-to-back Minor Premierships, the 2010 NRL Premiership and World Club Challenge.

His replacement is yet to be confirmed, although it is understood assistant coach Steve Price is a frontrunner for the role.

LeagueUnlimited.com will bring you more on this news as it comes to hand.

Media throwing everything out of proportion I ain't believing f**king sh*t about anything related to this until there's official confirmation then and ONLY then will it matter.

At the moment it's just media controversy to shake up the dragons players in order to affect their performances and gain money out of selling their stories. Other then that in the end it's his decision and it had to come sooner or later. The reason it felt so long is again thanks to the media in this state and their reporting on news. Please they can't even get a players name right.

Gone too soon, however sir Wayne brought joy to many Dragons fans the last 2 and a bit years and made the famous Red V a formidable footy team to be very proud of.

Geez looking at the Toyota Cup score on the weekend I'm not sure he's completely finished all he came to do - there's obviously still a bit of a challenge left at the Dragons for sure :)

They have announced a press conference for midday so it is looking a lot more likely.

The press conference at midday is to "discuss the coaching future of the club" and will feature Bennett and Doust.

Abosolutely Shattered if this is true, even though we all knew it was coming...
Forever thankful Saint Wayne :)

P.S Please FFS do not put Price in as Coach..., If we got Dugan that would be f**king awesome!
