Blacklock/Ainscough or Nighty/Moz

Which combination is better? On first glance you have to say Nighy/Moz but they are both pretty amazing when you think about it. Some of the things Blacklock did like the chip and chase try against the tigers at liechhardt, or Ainscoughs high shot in the 99 GF. I recently saw a picture of Ainscough and he looks like a psych ward patient. I did love watching him play.

Definitely the current crop. Both solid, excellent finishers and defenders and both are loyal to the Red V to boot. Not that I am saying Blacklock and Ainscough ain't but there is a question mark in my mind with those two.

I would compare Ainscough as similar to Morris.

Agreed, Blacklock was a freak though. His try scoring rate was crazy and he was always creating things on his own. Defensively he was nowhere as good as the current crop though. I recall when Dell schooled him a few times... pretty badly as well (although Dell would do it to most).

Of the four on offer...

In order:

1. Blacklock
2. Nightingale
3. B Morris
4. Ainscough

Blacklock was OK as a defender Shaiguy. Don't let the Warren Smith's of this world do your thinking for you.

Glad we agree on the top 4 add to that top 10, Walford rates number two for me because he was my favorite player at the time. Nightingale is my second favorite now behind Soward, he is an outstanding footballer.

Now your talking greats . But Nightingale is my pick for the best of the modern wingers . I would have loved a wing combo Of Johnny King and
Kenny Irvine .

I would take current crop, though I rate Blacklock & Ainscough higher than Morris but Nightingale is above all 3 of them Morris can still drop a ball when he wants to.

Nightingale is just a freak, love the bloke!

Interesting that people don't rate Ainscough much. I though he was fantastic at the dragons. I think Morris is the best though. He makes a lot of yards out of dummy half and scores tries that no other winger in the comp would score. I think Nightingale is a sentimental favourite for a lot of people but i think its kinda like the Cooper/Gaz debate. They are both very different players, one has more flair and the other is more solid and consistent.
