Haha, the armchair critics are dishing it out. Overall its just about the best team we could have selected, and one of the best teams weve had in seasons. Players playing in position, who would have thought?

Jason King however is extremely lucky, he is the exception. Hope Ricky and Bozo have seen something in him that I havent.

I feel your pain mate....it's obvious your hurting. :)

What annoys me the most is that smarmy little bastard Terry Kennedy sprouted this exact team (I think) as inside knowledge on the Sunday Roast today.

F*ck TK shits me off.........

I'm pretty sure he had Idris at centre.

It doesn't matter what side was named..............everyone would have lost their sh*t over it.

Nonsense. Barring a couple of positions, 90% of people were in agreement that the side should be something like

1 Dugan
2 Hayne
3 Gasnier
4 ---
5 Uate
6 Soward
7 Pearce/Mullen
8 Snowden
9 Farah
10 TLL
11 Bird
12 Lewis
13 Gallen

14 Mannah
15 Tolman
16 ---
17 ---

Seriously, can anyone argue with any of the above? Just fill in the gaps and you have a potentially match winning side. But no, the incompetent f**kwits have actually taken our best players from the last 2 years and ditched them. Unf**kingbelievable.

lol Smith and Slater made Origin a year after their debut and JT was playing Origin in the first year he played as a regular starter and all of their talent was evident.

Thing is we didn't stick with Slater, he was dropped for Bowen and then Hunt until his 2008 form was just too good to ignore.

Your post does hold up somewhat, comparing the likes of Mullen to Fittler, Daley or Johns is ludicrous.

He is better positionally at fullback, and is not just dangerous in broken play. Hayne is good, but is rather limited in his ability to do the normal fullback things. Defensively he is a liability sometimes. Yes Dugan had a couple of poor moments last night, but positionally he was sound. I believe Hayne is a 5/8th not a fullback.

Interesting he's better at positioning than Hayne despite Hayne having handled everything kicked at him this season without issue, including JT and Bowen this week, meanwhile one of the two most dominant kicking displays by any team this season was the Tigers at the expense of Dugan, two weeks ago. BTW the other most dominant kicking display was Round 1 Parra vs Warriors, no prizes for guessing who's boot did the domination.

Hayne is a defensive liability sometimes, but Dugan just has poor moments? Sound logic. Like two clubs games in a row (two of the three? full club games he's played this season) being completely ineffective defensively at the back moments.

Hayne's a 5/8 huh? Well that's different to form now isn't it?

Just another clueless bandwagoner.

I don't get why the ARL requires a team needs to be named a week and a half out from the game?

A 20 man squad should be named tonight with the fringe players fighting for spots in the team at training.

Soccer doesnt need a team named this early. Basically shows the opposition - 'here's our gameplan - beat it'.

Definitely some strange selections but I am wondering if Ricky has given his game plana away and that is biff from the opening whistle..I know Gallen and Bird and Ennis can blue, but will they get back up from the other forwards,,are the other forwards going to watch those three fight Qlders or will they tear in side by side with them?!

You mean that Dogs game where he starts on fire, does his usual stupid headbutt, gets binned, suspended and changes the game resulting in getting thrashed?

That is a BIG reason I think why Hayne lost the race.

Yeah the dogs game where while his team showed up he tore the opposition apart. But hey, apparently it's Hayne's fault that Hayne being binned for 10 minutes (along with an opposition player) was cue to Parra to shut up shop.

Go Blues.

I will be there and even if Daniel Mortimer was selected i can't help but bleed blue this time of year.

Some great strengths in this side.

Now this is definitely interesting. I can recall two times in the City v Coutnry game alone when Hayne definitely did not handle a kick. One led to Gordon taking it from him and scoring and another was a grubber he made a meal of. Dugan on the other hand is probably along with Boyd the safest player at the back.

Who was comparing Mullen to those people? That is if you are talking about my post.

Those things can impact a game, Hayne should know this. He cost his team big time that night, undid all his good work.

Stop talking sense. Jarrad Hayne doesn't make mistakes, or play for a penalty every time he is tackled or headbut blokes each season or get caught out of position by opposition kickers.......
