The backs pick themselves.

King & Ennis very lucky.

Farah & Lewis unlucky. Mannah unlucky not to be starting.

Glad the overrated Hayne & Idris missed out.

With so many Dragons players in, it's a shame we haven't got Bennett as the Coach.

If Stuart uses his brains & adopts the Dragons defensive structure & style of play NSW has a good chance in this series. Certainly a potentially better side than any of the crap we've been dished up over the last 3-4 years.

A lot will come down to Stuart, IMO.

The Dugan bashing simply confirms my thoughts that all anyone does when analyzing performances is pick one or two moments in a match and decide that they represent absolutely everything that player did, ignoring everything else.

Just wait till Origin I. Dugan's performance will say more than I ever could.

All about the big moments. In a tight game in front of 50,000 rabid Qlders and the pressure is on, we need someone to come up with the big play and to hang tough in defence. We haven't been able to win the big moments for five years, hopefully that changes this year

Because if we broaden the canvas to say this years stats, they're so favourable to Dugan right? Yeah you might want to look to the future because Dugan has f**k all behind him to justify your bullshit.

Why shouldnt QLD supporters be arrogant? Look at recent history and the teams NSW have trotted out....this team aint much chop.

teams NSW has trotted out is really a secondary issue. NSW doesnt have the class of player such as Slater, Inglis, Lockyer, Thurston, Smith, Thaiday, Hannant, etc

If those blokes were all NSW Origin players, then perhaps we'd have a chance.

Hayne can be as good as any of them, but not consistently. that's the difference between a good exciting player, and a great one.

re the the NSW selected team, if you just analyse some of the selections rather than just focus on best players that should be there, some of it makes sense. Scott is in there to maintain the SGI right-side link. Someone can tell me which sides Morris and Uate play (i think Uate is usually on the right) but Gasnier, Soward and Scott all play right-side for the Dragons. Given Soward is a defensive liability, Scott is in there to shore this up. Folks would be blowing up if Soward wasnt in the team, but he is a weakness without Scott. And it's not like Scott cant play. But yes, Stuart is basically calling on Bennett to do the coaching job for him.

Idris is a right centre so you have to choose between him or Gaz. Jennings plays on the left so there is balance in that selection. Pearce and Bird/Gallen will cement this side of the field.

Stuart has given his reasons for selecting Dugan & Ennis and leaving out Hayne and Farah. It's more than what other coaches have ever done. Like or loathe Ricky, and Im more on the side of loathe, his explained his major selections for the most part.

King is still a head-scratcher tho - care to step up to the podium Mr Fulton?

Those players were getting their arses handed to him by NSW in 2003/2004/2005 (Lockyer / Slater / Smith / Thurston)
But they stuck with them and remained loyal and now QLD are getting the rewards.
NSW need a core team, but the core NSW pick are rotten to the core.
Pearce / Ennis / Dugan.....fail.com

If Dugan had form and a few games behind this year, he'd be a good chance of pushing Hayne out. As it is he's been busted and is in the side cos Stick gave him the spot. Which after what Hayne has done for us the past few years is bullshit. He's a tossbag with a bad attitude, but so is GI, and they both lift for big games.

I thought we were going to be like QLD and value incumbency to some degree etc. bullshit If Hayne isn't a feature of the BLues side for a few more years I will be very surprised

It's kinda funny with Jennings, there's been plenty of times where his form has warranted selection, and he didn't get picked. This year he doesn't deserve it and they pick him.

Just funny how things work out, given all that he will probably go out and have a blinder

Again, care to try and actually back this bullshit up?

i dont need to. his week in-week out performances do.

if he was the great many think he is, he'd be a fixture in the Australian side too. but he isnt.

dont get me wrong, id have him in this NSW side on the wing in place of Morris. he can be a spark. but he f**ks with a team's balance and structure, especially at FB.

Apart from Ricky's toughness comment favouring Ennis, Id assume Farah isnt in the team because he'd probably unsettle the game of Soward. Farah is a creative DH, a player Soward isnt really used to at that position.

Once again, it comes down to the team balance.

I'm surpised at all the bitching about the NSW selection. Get behind the blues ffs. Every year there's always a few selections that make people go "huh" but at least Stuart (as much as I despise the bloke) is trying something different. I think this team might surprise a few of us.

**Edit**
If you don't like this team, f**k off and support QLD.

How many games has he played this year?? Last year it was neck & neck but no one can say Dugan is anywhere near his best or fully fit.

Except you're talking out of your ass, everything points to the exact opposite, he's an extremely dominant player, statistically amongst the best in the game even in a bad side.
