Quade Cooper to the NRL in 2013.

After only signing a 1-year extension with the ARU, that means he's left the door open to play league from 2013 when there's going to be more money for NRL clubs. I heard part of the interview when he said he played league until he was 18 & sounded really keen to give it another crack.

Wasn't Quade Cooper to the NRL in 2012 the rumour last year after he did the exact same shit and signed a 1 year contract.

The dude isn't that good. He certainly isn't worth $800k a year.

If sandow can get 500 + then why isn't Cooper $800k? Just watch him play, his offense skill is probably better then all our current halves, his tackling is poor though, but so was benji. . There is a reason the reds are number 1, and it's clearly him.

Speculation that Israel Folau has agreed to a deal with Parramatta surfaced after a club function on Wednesday. AFL boss Andrew Demetriou said yesterday that Folau had phoned him on Wednesday to assure him that he was happy in the new code. However, the Eels are still keen to sign him.

I think because 2011 is a World Cup year for rugby, people thought Cooper might try NRL in 2012. However, with the extra cash available to NRL clubs in 2013, he's probably been advised to wait for a bigger contract.

As for his talent, obviously defence is a concern, but other players have worked on that & improved ( recent examples Marshall & Soward ). From what I've seen, what he offers with other areas is worth it. He sounds very keen & played until he was 18 so that'll help with reading the game. If / when he does go to the NRL, it's a matter of finding the right mix of a coach & players around him to maximise his impact.

I dunno.

Just seems like he is using the NRL to better leverage his union deal every single year.

Would I pay him $800k...even with a cap of $6.5-$7m. I wouldn't. But then again I like signing proven players in the code rather than putting your hopes and money in a guy that plays well in a game that affords you more space to move.

Cooper can switch over to league and be available to play for the Kiwis, well because......he's a kiwi..
With the clubs salary cap going up buy a couple of million we might see some crazy stuff happen come Recruitment time. The Cooper SBW package will be very tempting for many clubs

Sandow got $400k not $500k+

Hodkinson got $270k, so Sandow is a bargain
