Maguire is not an 80 minute player
He is ok for two bursts of 30 minutes but 80 minutes, forget it.
His body is no longer up for the week to week grind of NRL.
Putting him at 7 is a huge no no.
He is either a 14 or kiss him goobye from the NRL for good.
I don't think Chris is worth keeping for next year anymore.
MK is doing a great job at hooker for 80 minutes - we just need a back up for him.

Time to try Humble in the mix at 6 I reckon, see what the kid's got this year?

Have either Robson or Maguire at 7 with him, have the other at 14 and then they can give each other breaks if Keating can keep going 80mins (or be there if Keating needs a small break). It's all we've really got for this year, unless SK wants to see the return of Morts... #-o

SK doesn't seem to be good at using the bench spontaneously, or in different ways to match changing game conditions. It's like he has a premeditated structure for it (including the 10 minute use of one player shambles) and always wants to stick to that (even when we had an early backline injury reducing our bench/forwards rotation by one).

As for helping Hayne, the trade off for paying (or signing) players something around the $400K+ mark is that we will have less quality squad depth to help them out. We're apparently under the cap significantly and have let some guys go this year, but haven't got anyone coming mid-season... so next year better have some signings to show for it all (especially if Burt and/or Hindmarsh retire early)!

You can only do it if you're extending player's current contracts. You cannot do it for signing new contracts with new players. Nor can you bring forward an existing contract so they get paid more this year freeing up space for future seasons.

Can't believe we made the canberra halves look like it was a Lockyer and johns combo, how embarrassing.

thats sucks because these are the players offcontract this year
Chris Hicks, Tom Humble, Taniela Lasalo, Manase Manuokafoa, Casey McGuire, Pele Peletelese, Joel Reddy

and these are the players off contract nxt year

Jordan Atkins, Luke Burt, Nathan Hindmarsh, Reni Maitua, Fuifui Moimoi, Daniel Mortimer, Justin Poore, Shane Shackleton, Ben Smith, Chris Walker, Carl Webb

we could of really used the cap space from this year on the off contract players in 2012... do u put this down to poor management or just pure bad luck ?

Definately a combination of the two. Mannah was re-signed earlier in the year so hopefully his contracted was frontloaded into this year, and Keating possibly the same. But then we don't seem too active on the open market so who knows what the situation is. In a months time there'll be hardly any players left on the open market so we'll be forced to pick up the scraps again like last year.

I think McQuire's honeymoon period is over, he was good there for a while but now seems to be slipping back to ordinary

and Robbo is just being Robbo
