Brookvale upgrade

I was looking at some of the early drawings of that design last night. I like it. It keeps every aspect of Brookie as it currently is but adds about 8,000 seats with corporate boxes. It would be cheaper than starting from scratch and it would satisfy most needs. The new stands could have toilets and food/drink stands which are the only things really lacking currently. After that they just need to look at the quality of the playing surface.

^ the problem is the old stands are sh!thouse and need rebuilding. The whole site needs leveling and rebuilding, as a phased rebuild, similar to the Jubilee Oval redevelopment.

With Manly facing possible relocation due to the stadium restructure, and the Central Coast Bears bid looking more uncertain as other bids start to build momentum, perhaps the two could form some sort of strategic alliance. A joint venture, if you will.
How about you learn some history f**kwit. They tried that once, it was a disaster.

The hilarious thing is, that is considered an upgrade for manly. What a joke.

The thing is Manly probably deserve this upgrade. They definatley need it. The club is strategic for the NRL and they have been going as well as anyone over the last 5-6 years. When all the TV money arrives in a year or two then even the NRL should look to buy them a grandstand if they still don't have one.

The various governments have been throwing money at rugby league grounds, Ausgrid, Wollongong, Kogarah, Parramatta, Penrith, Toyota have all recieved relatively recent upgrades and Brookvale has recieved nothing. Manly certainly deserve to be playing in a modern ground without being forced to move to the SFS or ANZ. The 2007 plans should be the ones approved and it would really not be that hard to implement if they can get the funding.

Anyone got a link to those plans?
