Not knowing the area well so go easy on me here ....

Would it be possible to do a 'land swap' ie: give brookvale oval over to developers for units / park in exchange for a new stadium off wakehurst parkway or are we talking different councils etc.

that looks like a ground a club in the Conference National League of the English Football League System would be proud of. That's Division 5 for those who dont know with Premier League being Division 1.

Come the f**k on Manly. You're a club in the highest league of the game in this country.

Hills? HILLS?

It's not up to the Manly club genius. Take the time to at least read through the thread and you'd discover the ground is owned and operated by the Warringah Council.;-)
Even if the club had funds to throw at a new stadium (which they don't yet brain surgeons continue to think of them as silvertails) they couldn't do a thing as it all hinges on what the council wantsto do with the joint.

Then the club, NRL, the ARL, the voters in the Warringah area need to stress that an upgrade that consists of grassy hills and limited cover in the year 2011 in an area where it rains a lot through the season is second rate.

The Sea Eagles need to threaten to go play in one of the big Sydney stadiums if its not sorted. Concrete terraces and a roof are not exactly expensive.

that cannot be an NRL ground.

the NRL have to set a minimum standard, that shouldn't be it. Manly cannot play there if they do that.

maybe they could move to North Sydney Oval. ;-) (*please don't hit me Bears fans)

No they wouldn't be, hills are highly discouraged at that level and are not allowed at the next level, League 2.

Cessnock has a better ground than that!!!
What a disgrace.

Those of you pushing the 2007 upgrade photos as the way to go have obviously not been to Brookvale Oval. The whole thing needs to be demolished. It's shocking.

Nope, haven't been there since Sunday.

Yes the current stands need some work but I don't think they need to be demolished. Would waste all the money that was spent on upgrades to the sheds, boxes, etc in recent years.

Anyone saying rugby league grounds shouldn't have hills is kidding themselves. People love the hill at Brookvale. There is absolutely no reason a stand should not be built behind the eastern hill and this will dramatically increase the capacity as well as giving more undercover seating. The family hill at the northern end is really not good for watching the game, having more seating in stands would potentially lower the price of these seats and allow more people to sit somewhere besides the northern hill. The bench seats around the fence need to be replaced as well.

Where are the sea eagles admin on this mess?! why havent we heard a word from them?
They gave up the ghost (publicly anyway) when their mate Tony lost the election last year.

The fact the state premier is a bitter ex-Norths supporter doesn't help much either.

Well thats pathetic.

They seemingly havent commented on this pathetic new design yet. Clearly your admin couldnt care less.

As I mentioned earlier the council elections are in 1 year.

If they want to get it changed , thats their outlet.

Re: barry O , i think the Nsw government have other priorities right now.
