So after blowing off some steam against a Gallen-less Sharks it's time to take on our Kiwi cousins in what promises to be another intense game between the two sides. I don't know about you, but after last year I feel it's payback time for the two whoopings we received and with Lockyer's record equalling appearance I believe Saturday the occasion could not be any better.

I'd stick with the same side, ideally Te'o would come on for Hunt, but I believe he needs another week of Q Cup to get himself up for the rest of the season.

Huge game in the context of our season. Hopefully our right side defence is up to the task of keeping Vatuvai out of the game as much as possible. Much emphasis must be put on this in training this week.

We also need to get numbers on Mateo to limit his offloads. Warriors have been going great guns this last month and will take a very committed effort to get the points from this game.

I'll be there and cant wait !!!!!!!!

If we can win this and the game against the cows i think we'll guarantee a home final

warriors have been a bit of a bogey team (as well as storm) and it'll be the return of berrigan.

i'm not sure why hunt is back in the team. i think baptise did well, and whislt i think macca isnt anything special he had a great game last week and may benefit form being on the field for longe rperiods

Teo named on the bench replacing Hala. Otherwise same team as played Sharks.

The reason was evident against the Sharks. Lockyer came off .......hunt filled in at 5/8. I guess Baptiste is limited to only playing the hooker role.

Just guessing.

I also think Mc should spend more time on the field.

Glad to see Teo back in the side. Hope he stays fit from now right through to the finals........

I doubt this is the reason as if the game is close Locky won't be coming off.

Griffin must either think that Baptiste is not quite ready or that Hunt is truly a better option.

So is this the (Griffin's) full strength side?! I guess Tronc might have been in the mix...

I think grif puts hunt in over bapz is because he can play 5/8 etc if needed.

I'm really hoping we come away from this game injury free as the warriors play rough!

Should be a close entertaining game and hopefully we'll get up by 6-12 points with the home game advantage...

Friday night is a good incentive for us if cowboys and dragons lose!

Agreed. I reckon if we win those two games we'll prob finish in 3rd spot.
Actually, if we do win those games, we're a good chance of snapping 2nd from Manly in the last round, as they still have to play the Storm...

Still, our calendar is pretty tough with Warriors (H), Cows (A), Knights (A), 50uff$ (H) and Manly (H)...

I believe Hunt's selection is basically more for insurance than anything else and that's fine when the starting forward pack gets through a lot of minutes.

I don't have any stats in front of me but I believe our starting front row is capable of playing the following minutes...

Hannant - 60
McCullough - 60
Anderson - 40
Glenn - 80
Thaiday - 80
Parker - 80

Gillett - 40
Hunt - 40
Te'o - 60
McGuire - 40

So an extra forward would be fairly unnecessary, especially when Thaiday can make that shift into the front row.

Agreed but I would prefer the hooker on the bench to be Baptiste purely because he is better and can have a big impact.

Pretty sure Gillett is perfectly "capable" of playing 80. Unless I miss understand what you are getting at.

On another topic, if Berrigan scores against us he will have points against every club. Hopefully he doesn't.

Actually you're right, but I didn't rate those '80 minute' efforts and just put down 40 because I rate him more as a benchy.

Agreed beads, but I'd say Hunt's versatility wins him the battle.

I was leaning more towards Hunt's versatility as opposed to Baptiste.

Not that I think Hunt is that much more versatile ( I guess he can play 3 positions as opposed to Baptistes 1)

but yeah........it's starting to make a little more sense

although a

14. Gillett
15. Teo
16. McGuire (through default......I'd like better)
17. Hala (Maybe ....if he is as talented as they say)

^^^THIS^^^ ........I could easily live with this scenario.

I don't see what Hunt provides to the side if Locky, Wallace, Hoffman and McCoullgh stay on the field

.........of course next year without Lockyer will different.

This is a game we should win, the Warriors haven't shown much against the better sides this year.
