Quade Cooper....

Have to laugh at all the idiot Rugby writers that came out and said that Cooper was up there with Joey Johns. FFS the guy defends on the wing. He aint fit to tie Dan Carters shoelaces let alone the great Johns!

he's a poor man's Benji Marshall with Robert Lui's defence and when he's not on song he has quite a few brain explosions in him

They should rename him Joe Montana. A couple of NFL style passes in between having the opportunity to hide out of defence. What a load of drivel that he is anywhere near Carter's level. Typical Australian press premature ejaculating over a 64 old bar wench with knee knockers.

he's hot and cold in attack and cant defend for shit and when theres rough stuff he hides on the wing, wouldn't have him in my 22 for a world cup final.

the really bad thing about Quade Cooper is that his defensive problems can be fixed easily.

the fact that he's been allowed to hide on the wing and fullback just shows how poor his coaches are.

if he was in NZ he would be dropped... and told that he will be picked again when he fixes his defence.

but of course... his coaches have basically said that they would rather hide his problems for short term success than to suffer some short term pain by fixing his real issues for the long term betterment of his game.

The old footy cliche about defense being attitude is true... you fix coopers attitude... you fix his defense.

Yes Cooper can either win us a World Cup or lose one...I'd really like to see O'connor have a go at number 10. Would be nice to bring Cooper off the bench if we are down by 12 with 15 minutes to go in the final...we either end up losing by 30 or snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Cooper will be the 10.

Needs some protection/support though. As all first receivers do.

oh yeah he'll definitely be 10. Just saying that I'd like to see O'Connor at 10 at some stage...though I can see him as our long term number 12 once all of our wingers are fit.

Not all... not by a long shot... Carter an Wilko could both takle all day without a hassle... and most can at least takle well... coopers takle involves getting tangled and hoping it stops the attacker!!

No questioning the tackling ability of those two. Cooper was left to get smashed too often against the AB's. Aussie forwards need to do more, or just do better.

I like the promotion of Higginbotham to the starting side. Problem is he will have 8 on his back instead of 6...he'll still go well (anything will be an improvement on McCalman) but we really miss Palu.

but why should your forwards make up for cooper's frailties?? he should be covering there miss tackles... not the other way around.

What makes you think I am talking about his tackling?
because the only problem in his game is the fact he's scared of going into contact areas... be it with the ball, or without it.

so why should his forwards have to alter there game to hide his deficiencies???

Test football is tough enough on its own without having to worry about holding the hand a weak team mate.

I don't think he's scared of taking the ball into contact. He's hit it up a few times playing for the Reds. It isn't all skipping and jumping. His tackling? Well, when he gets one right he gets it right but that is few and far between. He just doesn't commit to a tackle at all. It's all arms and no shoulder.

I would prefer him, if he could defend, at 5/8 in defence but you have to admit, he does offer something on attack when he gets the ball at the back.

No. You are on the wrong tangent.

The Wallabies will not blame one player, or one coaching decision for a RWC failure. There is a lesson there for the arrogant wannabe-champs of world rugby. But in their arrogance the lesson will be missed as they collect minor trophies while inventing scapegoats when they fail when it really counts. Maybe the home field advantage will help them over the line this time. Maybe. It is a massive advantage.

Thats poor bait.. you are trying too hard... "minor trophies"??? every test match should count... every trophy... as much as the rwc has eluded the All Blacks the fact that the wannabies cant win anything at all must be galling...

And yes the wannabies do blame single players and coaching decisions... just ask Greg Smith...

haha i see you're still one eyed about all of this. Wallabies can't win anything? We have a couple of RWC's in our cabinet (and one or two tri-nations titles I think). What about you? Bledisloe Cup. Yes that's our Holy Grail and we will get it off you next year...when you will no doubt be blaming someone or something else for not winning the RWC this year... :D
