Steven Kearney's big conundrum...

I'm with you POPEYE. Poupou shouldn't be allowed to make a self depreciating and humorous joke about a topic that was first raised almost a year again, not without your permission anyway.

Hoffman is a bit more robust than Locke, not tougher just more robust, so I'd give the nod to him. Nothing worse than a fullback being monstered and losing all momentum on kick returns. Hoffman, Nightingale and Vatuvei FTW with Locke biding his time for a little longer.

How about Poupou and you post pictures of what you look like so we can see what the specks of DNA on the mirrors is all about.

I'm not afraid to admit I look close enough as not to be a difference to the picture of Popeye that Chrissy Carol is in love with.

Hoffman and Locke both do the job asked from them and I'm sure Kearney will choose the best fit when the time comes

Oh shit, just realised my mistake. You claim that Poupou was making a self depreciating . . . I think you mean deprecating . . . joke.

So he was talking about his face not Kearney's. I didn't pick up on that so I'll take your word for it

I'm with you POPEYE, let's all post nonsense in a feeble attempt to be witty and relevant. Then we'll all completely miss the joke. Anyway,I thought we discussed the Hoffman/Locke thing at the pub last night? You must have been too busy pissing in your pants to remember!

Steve Kearney coaches my team - I f**king love the guy.

I just think he's got a big face.

Either way, how I look has no bearing on Steve Kearney or his face.

I was making reference to a thread of mine from long ago linking Kearney's coaching ability to his face size (along with other successful and not-so-successful coaches). That my comment was viewed as self-deprecating is testament to the fact that most posters on here still don't get it.

Not surprising for a rugby league forum.

Given the Kiwi players in the ESL being used to the European conditions at that time of the year, would there be any Kiwi players in contention from there..??

Rangi Chase and Leuluai are much better halves options than Foran, who has looked amateur at this level. Chase is one of the form players in the world at the moment.

Chase is definitely in career best form. He should definitely be in the squad at least. Marshall, Foran, Leuleui and Chase should be the halves in the squad IMO.
Hoffman starting fullback.
Perrett, Vatuvei, Locke, Beal, Nightingale, duffie the wingers, don't know how many you would have in the squad. Depends how big the squad is i guess. 25 man?
Matai, SKD, Sau the centres
And theres a shit load of forwards to pick from

As much as I like Rangi Chase he really is a poor mans Ben Roberts. Im sure if Ben Roberts went to the ESL he would probably be the best thing since sliced bread.

Marshall/Foran the 2nd and 3rd best 5/8ths in the NRL will do me

Foran has been terrible every time he's played for the Kiwis. Perhaps he'll come good down the track, but he seems well over rated to me.

WTF?? he's played less than 5 tests... and probably only 2 or so of them at 5/8.

hes only started to hit his straps this season as a 5/8... give the kid a chance.

And they were terrible games. I'll give the kid a chance, for Manly. When he is good enough, he can play for the Kiwis. I wouldn't play an aussie half ahead of Lockyer and Thurston on the basis that he MIGHT be good enough one day.

Have the Kiwis ever won a game he's played in?

What the f**k are you on about nimrod??

Have you even been watching him this season?? he's easily the best NZ half this season.

He was also running 2nd in the Dally M's before they went private.

barring injury... Foran will get picked for the kiwis at the end of the season. not on the basis that he MIGHT be good enough one day... it will be on the basis that he is the BEST in his position. therefore he is the best person to partner Benji Marshall in the halves.

seriously dude... what f**ken planet have you been on?? Foran has been easily the best 5/8 in the NRL this season... if he hadnt made himself available for the Kiwis he would have made his Origin debut this season.

 What's this guy smoking? Foran > Marshall this year.

Those judging Rangi Chase on what he used to be like need to get a clue. He's in brilliant form and should be in the squad.

Foran is not better than Chase. Not even close. Foran is not better than Leuluai. Foran is certainly not better than Marshall. And as it is, Fien has a couple of trophies in his Kiwi cabinet. Foran has lacklustre losses.

Why is Foran a better option? Is it the fact that every time he has played, NZ have not only lost, but looked clueless and a shadow of themselves?

Foran's best work this season appears to have been hurling himself at the try line. I'll give you the hot tip, that's not what the Kiwis need.

He's not even the best half at his clubs FFS.

I cannot fathom how you can possibly believe Foran has been the best 5/8 this season.
