Will it be a poor 4 Nations?

Most of the England team come from mid table teams though. So it could be close.

And here was me thinking that of the twenty-four players, sixteen come from either the two Grand Finalists, the League Leaders or the Challenge Cup winners, with four more from the top four NRL clubs.

I take it your tongue was firmly in your cheek when you wrote that!

He classes Leeds as a mid table team as we qualified for the playoffs in 5th. It's obvious the Leeds players arent good enough to compete though because if this ;-)

if we did'nt have McNamara as coach i'd be all over here saying we'd win it like i normally do...

but i have no faith in McNamara what so ever

we'll beat NZ though

To be honnest i would be happy with England to win the four nations to add balance to the comp....plus anything less than a victory for Australia will result in Sheens getting the boot! Im still hoping i will see a final without Australia in it!

Hopefully it is BD, Origin was good this year, would love to see more quality League.

But really, I think this is a silly thread, if anything, it's shaping up to be one of the better series. Australia have a better backline, Uate is a way ahead of where Tuqiri was last year and Boyd is the one Dragon who doesn't choke at rep. level. Yow Yeh and Inglis if they can get fit will be handy and hopefully Lawrence gets the nod over old man Tonga.

JT back too, I think we're all good chief. Only problem is the forward pack, which is slightly weaker than last year but if they can stay fit can still challenge the Poms and Kiwis any day of the week.

Speaking of the Kiwis, they're shaping up as a far more stuctured side with Locke and Foran covering key positions. They'll miss 2010 SKD but they're definitely shaping up to be a side to keep an eye out for.

The Poms, look, I haven't kept much of an eye on their squad, but Widdop, Reed and Heighington will give them the NRL polish that's lacking and I expect some of their younger players to build on 2010's effort.

Wales, eh, I...suppose...they'll...be better for the...experience? *two thumbs up, cheesy grin*

I think that the 4 nations in the northern hemisphere is better. England are a lot stronger at home than they are in Australia and New Zealand. Therefore, you have three strong teams this time around. I am a bit worried about how Wales are going to get on though.

With understrength Kiwi and Aussie squads, the quality won't be as high, but the comp should be closer, which is good imo.

Looking forward to it, hoping for an England v Australia final, the Kiwis have been a bit too confident lately  Hope Wales give it a good shake, should certainly do better than the mess that was the Gene coached PNG last year.

The Kiwis have good reason to be confident with their halves, and forward pack. Not so hot in the backs though, apart from Nightingale of course

Would love a NZ-Eng final

I disagree.
Australia still has Slater, Inglis, Thurtston, Lockyer, Smith, Gallen.
Kiwis. Marshall, Matai, Foran, Luke
Poms. Some great kids in Lomax etc mixed with the battleharden Sinfield, Ellis, Graham. Some NRL experience thrown in

You have the quality mixed in with the rookies. It should be great. I can't wait

I'm one of a rare breed of rugby league optimists, but the naming of three significantly understrength squads has me worrying that it won't be the spectacle we're hoping for. All the discussion is around international musical chairs rather than the tournament itself, which doesn't bode well.

I'm certainly looking forward to the football, no doubts about that, and will enjoy it either way, but will the less passionate fans find the entertainment and standard of footy they're looking for? We'll have to wait and see.

The games will be shown at terrible hours here if at all so i doubt the less passionate fans will even be watching.

You would have to think that there would be enough interest to justify putting it on delayed at lunchtime or something. Nothing else worth watching on weekends. God I hate ch9

I am not it will be a poor series. But no doubt which two countries will play in the final.

Wales will not win a game. England will beat Wales. AS for the Kiwis and the Aussies it really depends who plays better on the day.

I'm looking forward to this series more than any other in a long time. International rugby league is building nicely.

England beat NZ last time it was played North. Not sure why people are writing them off so easily.

Locke & Beale are class players. They're rookies I know but damn they're both lightning quick and both are smart players. It will be good to see their pace in our backline.
