THE INSIDE BACK
Sydney could be in for a double helping of Black Caviar in the autumn before she leaves to take on the world at Royal Ascot. The unbeaten superstar will return to Peter Moodys stable next week and resume in the Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley on January 27. She will have a Melbourne campaign before defending her TJ Smith crown at Randwick on April 14, and owner Neil Werrett is keen to run the mare in the All Aged Stakes a fortnight later. I would be happy to see her race twice in Sydney. The TJ Smith looks an ideal race and then she can go to 1400 [metres] in the All Aged, he said. She will have the Sydney runs and then it will be off to Royal Ascot and the July Cup. The only run that is locked in for Black Caviar is the Australia Stakes but there are other races under consideration down south. We havent finalised her program yet but Peter is keen to try her at 1400 metres, Werrett said. One option is go to the Orr and the Futurity Stakes [both at 1400m] before coming to Sydney. The other option is drop back to the Lightning Stakes [over 1000m] then perhaps back-up in the Futurity. We would like her to have a break before coming to Sydney because it is going to be a long campaign.
Great news for all you Sydneysiders..
I'll be down for T.J Smith day,so i will get to see the freak mare in the flesh for the first time..
