I'd say technique imo

He's got a gap between bat and pad that he never used to have.

I know I sound like a broken record but ODIs and T/20 is the cause for alot of these deteriorations in technique, just my opinion

I'd agree, but not with him... he doesn't play much shorter cricket does he?

I think you guys might underestimate how tough touring Aust is, especially after a series in England - I reckon he's mentally and physically exhausted - he carried them in India, and has nothing left... Mark Richardson did the same for us, had a wonderful series in England, then went to Aust and was spent...

Players like Dravid and Ponting are getting old (obviously), I expect more troughs - he'll be back (or could obviously retire soon)

I would say father time is the reason for Dravid though.

I mean if you aren't going to be able to defend on a flat track like Adelaide I think the signs are damning.

Could be true but a little over 6 months ago he scored 3 tons against the poms in England.

But since then he has been bowled out 6 out of 7 times this series. That means our bowlers have gotten passed his technique each time.

which they wouldn't have been able to do about a year ago as the didn't have the problem then

not only does he have the gap, he is playing from the crease alot instead of coming forward

yep, leaving a gap - never had that problem in the past, his technique has been superb... bat's not coming down straight at all, he looks awful...

he can fix it, no doubt, but he looks like he might have had enough at the moment

^^lol

It's time for Rahul to move on. It's sad watching his techinque atm. He's all over the place and at 39, I think retirement is the best for such a great player.

His last series was terrific - I think it's mental, but I doubt he'll want to go out like this...

twizz - maybe JL has spoken to him, and this is the result... could be Aust's grand plan!

he's clearly helped your captain improve, and ensured both Ponting and Hussey transferred their excellent net form to a real game, where would you be without JL, dominating in the nets?

Dravid has been bowled 55 times in 284 innings. Or 19% of his innings. He was called the wall more for his ability to put up resistance when other batsmen failed then his ability to keep the ball off his stumps.

A great player in his prime but age has caught up with him.

Both Australia and India day, should be plenty of pride out there today from both sides. Should be the best day of cricket so far this test, anything less then 100% from everyone involved would be criminal. Hope our bowling start on mark unlike yesterday, Harris was probably tired but Hilfenhaus and Siddle should really be up for the challenge of getting more wickets on this track after their snares yesterday. I'm excited, another beautiful Adelaide day unlike that in Sydney and Brisbane. C'mon Aussie, c'mon c'mon.
