Went to the game tonight and i thought the new Wire signings were fairly impressive, Stefan Rathcford is class and can play anywhere in the backs whilst Chris Hill is a skilful prop. Trent Waterhouse is better than the man he replaced Louis Anderson so no doubt they will be hard to beat this season.

Looking forward to see how they fare against Hull fc next week.

Cheers. Just wanting to know if the Rabbitohs got classed by a full strength squad or it really was a battle of juniors.

Just seen the line-ups, about 6 of the run on team against Souths would be first choice with a couple of others maybe in contention for a bench spot. It wasn't full-strength, I reckon the average ages were probably pretty similar and since it was a trial match I imagine there was a lot of chopping and changing for both teams during the game.

Chris Riley; Rhys Evans, Matty Blythe, Ryan Atkins, Rhys Williams; Lee Briers, Stefan Ratchford; Adrian Morley, Micky Higham, Garreth Carvell, Ben Westwood, Trent Waterhouse, Simon Grix. Bench: Richie Myler, Chris Bridge, Paul Wood, Ben Harrison, Mike Cooper, Chris Hill, Tyrone McCarthy, Gareth O'Brien.

They played 21 players. Of their top 21 only Hodgson and the two Monaghans missing as far as I can tell. So pretty bloody close to full strength in actual fact.

Haha, thats hilarious, i wrote Louis Armstrong instead of Louis Anderson. Now edited.

Solomona didn't play and Morley played about 12 minutes.

Warrington did well to win given the team which played the second half, Gareth O'Brien scored the match winner in his first game back from a knee reco

This was the LOL@50uffs team for comparison.

Fetuli Talanoa, Chris McQueen, Shaune Corrigan, Matt King, Andrew Everingham, Ryan Carr, Adam Reynolds, Scott Geddes, Nathan Peats, Josh Starling, Eddy Pettybourne, Dave Tyrrell, Jason Clark. Subs: Brendan McKinnon, Curtis Johnston, George Burgess, Neccrom Areaiiti, Blake Judd, Kurt French, Blake Matthews, Brock Molan, Bennett Leslie, Vale, Andrew Artemi

Shit squad but a f**kin awesome team.

Waterhouse has more to his game than Armstrong (hehe) by all reports, and hisoffload game is supposed to be top draw. It will be good to see runners of him. Atkins and Myler are going to do a lot of damage on the left side this year.

No one knows where Ratchford is going to play. The theory is that he will either go to full back or be the Briers replacement. One interesting thing from the game is Myler filled in at Hooker for us. He certainlny has the game to play there, and would be a very similar style to Monas.

Maybe Myler at Hooker, Ratchford and Briers in the halves with O'Brien waiting in the wings.

Hill has been seen as Morleys replacement. With him, Harrison and Cooper that is three good young props coming through.

The only issue after that is full back. Riley can do a job, as can Evans or Bridge and there are a few youngsters who will get a shot this year.

All said, i think this off season has been a good for transfers at Warrington. There definately seems like a plan to replace the older players so there loss won't be felt as much.
