The Warriors have announced their team for their season opener against the Manly Sea Eagles at Eden Park on Sunday with young centre Konrad Hurrell to make his debut.

The rookie has been named to partner Jerome Ropati in the centres for the club's season opener against Manly at Eden Park on Sunday.

Ropati returns to the side after missing almost the entire 2011 season through injury.

Kevin Locke is preferred to Glen Fisiiahi at fullback.

Coach Brian McClennan has named a seven-man interchange bench including a potential debut for last year's Junior Warriors captain Ben Henry.

Hooker Nathan Friend has been named to make his first NRL appearance for the Warriors.

Warriors team:
1 Kevin Locke, 2 Bill Tupou, 3 Konrad Hurrell, 4 Jerome Ropati, 5 Manu Vatuvei, 6 James Maloney, 7 Shaun Johnson, 8 Russell Packer, 9 Nathan Friend, 10 Ben Matulino, 11 Feleti Mateo, 12 Simon Mannering, 13 Elijah Taylor. Interchange: Lewis Brown, Sione Lousi, Ben Henry, Ukuma Ta'ai, Glen Fisiiahi, Krisnan Inu, Alehana Mara.

7 man bench f***.

thats a fantasy footy nightmare...

fk you coach

Inu won't play, unless Ropati pulls up lame. And it's safe to say Friend will play 80, with Brown as cover - so Mara won't play either. The Fish is a true "18th man" in my opinion - he won't replace Locke.

99% sure the first 17 names will run out on Sunday.

juest read your post again... that helps... but

will lousi and henry play?

Yeah they will man.

Lousi and Ta'ai are both prop cover. So it's safe to assume they will both play.

Brown covers back row (likely to interchange with Mateo as an attacking forward) and also centre in case of a backline injury. So he's a lock in.

As far as Henry goes, there's no logical reason why Inu, Fish or Mara would play. Plus it'd be a massive cocktease to announce his debut in the papers then drop him before game day!

Inu could potentially play as a utility on the bench .. can cover any position from 1-5, and with Ropati a risk and Hurrell debuting, there could be an argument for him ..

But I would personally expect the bench to be Brown, Sione Lousi, Ta'ai and Henry.

Yeah good points there.

Inu may also have just been named as injury cover for the centres, as Hurrell had a niggle the other day and Ropati is obviously coming back from a long layoff.

If Inu did play off the bench, it'd have to be at Henry's expense. And I just can't see Bluey being that much of a prick haha.

So in my opinion, either Inu will play as a starter for one of our centres who may pull up lame... or the team will be as named 1-17.

I must say I much preferred the old system that you ran so well Timmah, but given the sh*t you always copped for some reason I don't blame you for not wanting to

That's probably what's stopping me - I know how many views it got but I'm also wary of the fact that people simply want a reason to dig.

I'm off to do some real work now anyway, so if once I get back the demand is there I might help out.

I found the old system really good .. to get all the lineups in a post on a forum I frequent, with match officials, good-looking banners etc too .. it was great.

BTW, Broncos have named Sam Thaiday as Captain - he will be playing in the Front Row. Corey Norman named at five-eighth.
