Tinkler should build a cute little gingerbread house up in Newcastle for Beau, Darius, Cuthbertson and McKinnon to live in together. Bunch of queers.

I wonder if Wayne's gonna poach any more of our players, so much for integrity he is making a fool of himself now. Scott has been great for us and like Willow said we got the best out of him.

Calm down father ted, you are normally pretty level headed but you are going over the top mate.

Mate I like Mongrel . I have never seen a team win a grand final without it . Besides I have never had the blind faith in our board that others do probably because Of my past dealings with them and watching a wonderful thing being dismantled isn't pretty.

Never seen a team win without Mongrel??? Penrith did it in 03. Wests did it 05. I like mongrel too but giving away penalties isn't mongrel its stupidity. I rekon De Belin would "fold Beau like his laundry" anyway. Merrin has mongrel, Weyman is no soft c**k, Au Mau is a beast. Josh Miller is a psycho. We have plenty of mongrel and those guys don't give away penalties, throw panic passes and rush up on play makers to put in cheap shots. He was overrated.

And maybe direct your frustration at that tall skinny prick who keeps poaching our players instead of our board. Someone should call Mark Taufua and see if he is still interested in "folding that #9ball like his laundry" on the weekend when the Sharks play the Knights. HAHAHA

You should be a little perturbed . You see to realise some posters Stewart wet dreams we will have to release another player on similar money and of similar quality to Scott . And thats not counting trying to get Bretts brother either. The other question is How style might be feeling right about now at fullback . And yet another question is what happens if we shed Players and Don't sign a Stewart or Beale?

Haven't seen that much of Beale but from the last two games I saw of him I haven't been impressed drops a lot of ball in the air. Maybe he's just had a couple of bad games I dont know.

Wow, I've found there's 3 things in life you can count on 1) death 2) taxes, and 3) BBC whinging and claiming the end of the world any chance he gets.

I'm not happy about losing Beau Scott, but with the emergence of De Belin, Merrin etc someone had to go.

Beau Scott came to us as a 2nd rate player and in the Red V he developed into a marquee player. He's given us great service over the years, helped us to 2 Minor Premierships and that elusive Premiership. He was offered another contract, but elected to take more money to go elsewhere. At this stage of his career I can understand his desire to set himself up financially and I wish him all the best.

Personally, at this stage I'd much rather lose Beau Scott than Creagh, Young, De Belin, Prior or Merrin so I applaud Doust's handling of the negotiations and prioritizing the retention of our younger juniors and club stalwarts.

Unfortunately, in this day and age of the salary cap, winning a Premiership causes player values to go up and squads to be torn apart. Happens to everyone. I mean, we had something like 8 or 9 players play in State of Origin last year. We simply can't keep them all. I think Manly fans are even worse off then us right now by facing the reality that they will probably lose one of their favorite sons in Brett Stewart.

We have the most fertile junior base in the NRL, we lose players, we develop more. We don't need to play cheque book Rugby League. We have 2 emerging forwards by the names of Merrin and De Belin that other clubs would break the bank for if they had the chance, so let's just cout our losses with a guy like Beau Scott.

Yep I'm with you on this one Father Ted. From memory I started the "Where is the Mongrel" thread a few years ago. There are plenty of good forwards out there but to win a premiership you need to be able to drive up the guts and intimidate. Guys like Jeremy Smith and Beau Scott are gladiators. Their value to the team far outweighs their individual skills. Despite his incredible talent you don't win a premiership with a team of Ben Creaghs. This is a big loss.

Thanks I forgot about the salarycap How completely clueless of me . Thank god I'm not on the board I might forget to get a release on a player next.

Wow what a great post. Someone with a level head. And if you think about it, we have guys like Creagh, Morris, Merrin and Nightingale all coming out and publicly saying that they want to play their careers out with the Dragons and here we are getting upset over Beau "i miss my daddy" Scott.

Beale is really good Minh. He has had two average games and has been a bit dodgy under the highball. Of course, he is also playing out of position. Kind of reminds me of someone else a bit closer to home actually. He'll bounce back.

C'mon mate no need to be a smart arse, just calm down. Your happy to pay overs for an average talent? I know you're not stupid so I am not trying to be disrespectful I just don't think this is such a big deal. He hasn't played well for us for quite some time.

You would much prefer to lose Scott than Prior or Young. There are people going overboard on the negatives but surely you can't be serious

You forgot that little part about market value...Scott costs us a lot more than Young and Prior

I hope the Board Members read this thread. It sums up many of the supporters' frustrations. Bred not bought. Salary cap. Our lack of activity in the player market. Our "supposed" financial problems.

We are all speculating about what should/could happen but I doubt whether many of us actually know what money any player is on, what they have been offered by other clubs, what contracts have been loaded, what next year's salary cap will be etc etc.

I realise this information is privileged and confidential but it is annoying having your guts ripped out and not knowing why. It's like a death by a thousand cuts. A bit of transparency would be nice.

Wayne Bennett is the biggest #9 ball. After the 2010 GF he stated that winning a competition for the fans was one of his motivations. A wonder if it has occurred to him that the same fans he wanted to please are the ones that he is rear ending now??!!

Then he states that he wants to leave the club in a strong position but forgot to add that was after he handpicks the talent he would like to take with him. I am not fussed on Scott but the principle of matter really stinks.

If the response to this is along the lines of "its a cut throat professional sport" then fair enough, but in that case save the lip service and the holier than thou attitude ya #9 ball.

Maybe now that Beau is gone we can put a centre in the centres

I'll be sad to see him go. A big loss no doubt. Thankfully we have a lot of forward depth currently and will surely have available funds to sign a player or two this year.
