Searle has not said much in recent days/weeks to make himself sound trustworthy.

Take what he and a club has to say with a grain of salt until a third party says something.

Just contrast what he said before this mess got out and what we've heard since it's gotten to the court and the Leagues own auditors have looked through the place. And the league gains nothing from exaggerating the problems.

The only people I feel for are the genuine Titans fans who are being affected by this after doing nothing wrong. I have nothing but contempt for Searle, and I'm bitterly dissapointed in how the NRL went about giving him dictatorial control of a new club.

None of this mess would have happened if things were done right from day 1.

Little things like not giving a license to an accountant who insists on making himself boss and having noone to answer to.

If he had an independent board I am convinced there wouldn't have been enough delusional people to sign off on the CoE which has been a classic example of biting off more than you can chew.

I hope the situation can get resolved, the debt gets repaid and governing structure of the club is drastically changed. But I fear it may be too late and I fear the best long term option will be giving the license to someone else and rebranding.

one thing i know for sure is always ignore Bunniesderp

Is the property something the ARLC could buy and invest in?
Some estimates have the debt of the building being 3 times its worth. The ARLC does not have the money to deliberately take on a loss like that. That is why there are whispers of them discussing the Nuclear option. Taking the license away and rebranding.

He'd probably do a better job than Searle.
why not?

Bunniesderp has said he will score 30 test centuries
He will.
Only 27 to go then.
Exactly. Watch him have an awesome season in county cricket and get picked for next summer. He'll probably knock off half a dozen of those 27 before the end of the '12-'13 summer.

And we're wildly off topic. Back on topic: yeah f**k Searle. As the 'Titans' or rebranded he needs to be f**ked off. It's a fickle market and we need to do expansion on the Gold Coast properly. Searle has been anything but doing it properly. He thinks he's George Steinbrenner but he's not fit to manage a chook raffle.

How about the businesses & associated families that are being dragged into this & may end up bankrupt themselves? $25 to $35M is a lot of families affected.

That is a good point you make but those businesses by the looks of it are being successful in getting their money through the courts and having the Titans pay their court fees as well.

The fans I said I felt for don't have the option of going to court and getting their club back if it does all go to pieces and the Titans fold.
