I dont know Teddy .. will knock back League in the area for teh couple of years it takes to get a new team up and running .. but it would be back to normal programming as soon as that happened I reckon.

And while it would be prefereable this never happens at all, the fact that it has(IF it has), does open a whole lot of doors that werent open before.. eg:

Year 1.
Vacant licence picked up by new team ...in Perth brining forward expansion
A new GC team entity created - hopefully private ownership free and , gets on its feet administratively and rebuilds bridges locally.
New GC team gets to negotiate a better stadium deal (which Titans couldnt/didnt)
New GC team takes modest lease at CoE without owning it.


Year 2:
New Team launches with 1 other expansion team and gets good PR just in time for Suns to collect their 3rd of 4th near bottom finish in AFL.
New team debt free with viable stadium deal.
Crowds and ratings back... .

Year 3:
Titans who?

Use your brain mate. The NRL aren't gunna wanna fork out millions & millions of dollars for nothing. It just doesn't make sense to take on that huge debt if they don't have to. They may make a deal with creditors (say 50c in the dollar) but that's the best they can hope for.

It could be argued that the way the Tits have stuffed around small business in the area and the damage this has done to their brand is worse than any effects of giving the license to someone else and rebranding. Infact if the rebranding was done right it could create good will in the community.

f**kbeans. That's the link. It means the football club is into the property arm for a large proportion of the overall debt.

So now the only important question is, can the property arm be satisfactorily wound up? With enough of the debt paid off such that the CBA loan isn't called in beyond the club and the ARLCs ability or inclination to pay.

I wonder if they can pay out the poisonous bank loan first, and leave the other property arm debts to the bankruptcy. It increases their survivability a great deal.
