Too Many Nice Guys

Ok, I know we have many problems in this team at the moment. We have outside backs who can't compete, we have edge forwards who can't even impose themselves on tiny halves or tackle, we have a dummy half who has no vision what-so-ever and provides shithouse service. All of these have been discussed over and over in other threads.

But the thing that sums it all up for me is a complete lack of aggression. Allgood trying to stand up last night after he dropped the ball gets pushed backwards by Lauchlan Coote and takes it like a bitch.

Apart from Moi Moi and our 5 foot tall halfback, we have absolutely noone with any gusto in defence. We don't fight in tackles. The lack of aggression is dead set alarming. I had hopes for Lasalo the first time i saw his 6'1 110kg frame on a football field, but he is deadset softer than Burt, and makes even worse reads in defence.

We get walked all over. Players put grubby elbows in our guys faces on the ground, bending us backwards and some are hamming it up while running point after point in on us and we cop it. It's embarrassing.

We're so soft, Kingston takes a tap 10m out and runs to our 1m right into the teeth of our defence with no fear what-so-ever.

On this note, Lasalo is a horrible excuse for a football player. He struggles to put someone to ground as 3rd man in. He won't wrap up the ball in tackles allowing easy offloads, and he makes horrible reads on inside balls and long balls which lead to line breaks/trys. Add to this he runs softer than Burt, if Kearney picks him again he has noone to blame for these losses but himself.

Definately something here. Look at some of the recent premiers and they either love a wrestle, a stink, or just an overall aggressive attitude and being tools.
The Storm will rip your arms off and twist your head around without thinking twice. Manly ditto, they just look like pricks to play against. Go back a few years to the Roosters team that made a few GF's and they had Adrian Morley knocking blokes ar$e up. Bulldogs with O'Meley and Mason etc were just pr!cks.

.
Point taken, but I think in the case of that tap you are confusing crap defence and concentration with lack of mongrel.

Agree re Lasalo. For the first 8 minutes 30 seconds (and it's that specifc) of each game he looks vaguely like a first grade footballer, then he remembers that he's not quite so good.

Also, I know it's not acceptable to say anything positive about Justin Poore because somehow it's his fault that he's overpaid (and shit, if someone offered me a lot more than it turns out I'm worth I'd refund them and send a public apology to all members), but he's at least laid a couple decent hits on people this year.

He has not started every game since his debut.

"Starting every game in 2011, the vast majority of them alongside Nathan Hindmarsh in the second-row, Taniela Lasalo enjoyed a breakout year in the NRL. "

& He's started every game this year no?

You did say since his debut though, and Lasalo played 3 games over 2009-2010 under DA, all off the bench. So technically he's correct about you being incorrect.
